Which European capital cities have you been to?

Kazakhstan really isn’t a European country, even if it has some steppe west of the continental border.
 
Switzerland, Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro I’ve been to but not to their capital cities.
 
Yeah, likewise, I've been to Cyprus, Spain and Poland but not their capitals.

Copenhagen is top of my list to tick off when we're ALLOWED OUT again.
 
Copenhagen is a great city! Great architecture, culture etc. I have yet to explore its gay nightlife (even though I’ve pretty much explored already all its men on the dating apps).
 
I’ve done Copenhagen and Stockholm recently, and when we’re allowed outside I’m doing Oslo.

Ljubljana was the surprise HIT out of all the ones I’ve been to, fucking beautiful.

I’ve been to Montenegro, Croatia, Turkey and Germany, but not their capitals, and I’m supposed to be going to Tbilisi in July, which hasn’t been cancelled yet...

As for The North:

01. Copenhagen
02. Stockholm
03. Helsinki
04. Reykjavik (higher up if we’re to include all the surrounding landscape)
05. Oslo
 
In terms of countries/not capitals: Cyprus, Greece, Montenegro, Turkey, Poland, Germany, France, Belgium
 
Only been to Paris, Rome and London. But then I’ve still been to Croatia, Cyprus, Finland, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Spain and Turkey.

SUPPOSED to be going to Athens this summer :D
 
I've been to Spain, Croatia, Belgium and a couple of Greek islands without doing the capital cities

I did Budapest over 10 years ago so my memories are getting pretty hazy, the other eight I've done in the past 3 years. Including Tallinn which I was lucky to tick off less than two weeks before travel was banned.

Have flights booked for North Macedonia in Autumn which I'm holding onto hope will be my re-introduction to the outside world
 
Yes, I have been to Ljubljana, Tirana and Vilnius but not to Madrid, Paris or Rome.
 
Stockholm - My favourite and most visited foreign city. Just so pristine and gorgeous.

Copenhagen - Stockholm's fatter, drunker cousin. Naturally I love it.

Vienna - A gorgeous and hugely impressive city, though with a definite sense of elegant decay. I'd visit again but not at a high priority.

Kyiv - Utterly bonkers but very charming and friendly - and CHEAP. I'd actually like to go back. I never ate so well in my life.

Lisbon - Glorious, cocktails on the Topo do chiado on a lazy sunny afternoon would rival sitting on the Stockholm waterfront at 4am drunkenly watching the sun come up among my all-time favourite little holiday moments.

Sofia - A really interesting cultural melting pot in terms of the architecture. Generally friendly and interesting with some great food, and I got to meet the lovely @ameraal. Not somewhere I'm *dying* to go back to, but definitely worth a visit.

Rome - Obviously interesting but very touristy and contains some of the worst elements of a capital city. Didn't love it TBH, much preferred Florence.

Vatican - Dropped in while in Rome to do the Sistine Chapel thing. That's all I really remember.

Bratislava - Spent the day there during my Vienna trip. I'd recommend the river cruise between the two cities to anyone - breathtaking. The actual city is quirky but not hugely memorable.

Amsterdam - A fun time but again, not to my taste in terms of how touristy it is.

Oslo - The dullest Nordic capital for me, and the most expensive, but still very pretty in places.

Prague/Berlin - Visited on a school trip. I don't really count them as I only really saw museums and concentration camps. Keen to revisit both.

London - OH IT'S FINE I GUESS.
 
you know, i started going down the list and i just don't remember anymore. i think i've been to riga and pristina but i wouldn't bet on it.

but someone's been very liberal with the concept of "european".

Ljubljana almost didn't feel real at times it was so beautiful.

it's so stupid we didn't really do anything together.
 
I've been a bit liberal with Brussels as we stopped around there to eat and refuel on the way to German for the world cup but I'm having it.
 
Brussels - I adore Brussels. It's not a clean city but it has a lot of life
Prague - was not impressed, it just felt really dirty and unavoidably touristy
Paris - would absolutely love to spend a whole summer there and maybe live further down the line
Berlin - 3.5 years living there and I don't feel like I'm done yet
Budapest - beautiful tourist destination, locals awfully cold
Dublin - can't remember anything about it
Amsterdam - home :disco:
Oslo - very pretty, very small
Madrid - I enjoyed myself but wasn't mesmerised
Lisbon - I WAS MESMERISED!
London - great place to go for a few days, couldn't deal with much longer

Amsterdam has just one central area, surrounding the station, that's a tourist hellhole full of drunk Brits. It's not that big and once you get out of it there are much bigger neighbourhoods which are much less touristy and way more beautiful - maybe you did the wrong things!

(Berlin doesn't have concentration camps, unless you count being forced to dance for 12 hours while sweating out your entire body weight in Berghain to one continuous song, and then finding out when you escape into the garden that was really just 20 minutes and that line you did off the filthy toilet seat was in fact high grade ketamine)
 
Still missing a few major ones, Rome and Berlin mainly, having been to both countries quite a few times actually. Berlin is an important one for someone in the KET club and needs to be organised properly. And Rome needs more than a weekend, but I’ve got BORED of Europe lately and have been organising my long trips outside of the continent.

Basic bitch nightclub NEVERMIND was an absolute DELIGHT, we went there TWICE :D :disco: once accompanied by the lovely @Mats
 
Mats also took us to an underground techno party but that was before my ket days and I regret not enjoying that properly :(

I did like some of the outskirts of Amsterdam a lot, don't get me wrong. Lovely parks and cobbled streets.

I was conflating Berlin and Prague as it was the same trip. What I meant was as I was 15 and on a school trip I didn't really 'see' either city.
 
Stockholm or Prague are my favourites. Both cities where you are surrounded by culture wherever you go. Stockholm seemed a bit more sprawling.

London remains and always will be possibly my favourite city in the world.

Lisbon is top of my list to go to. I've heard nothing but great things.

I know exactly what you mean, It’s like a postcard.
We went to Metelkova Mesto which was a decommissioned army building which has been turned into a rock venue. It stank of piss and I drank Red Stripe the whole time, but it was still full of character and a bit bohemian.

There is Sachsenhausen just outside of Berlin. Fascinating and so grim. :(

Never prioritise exercise over anything. I’ve never been offered as much COKE as I was in Lisbon. I had to walk ages to find anywhere that sold Aloe Vera for my sunburn, but coke? You couldn’t move for the stuff.
 
I realised I haven’t visited any country without visiting its capital!

I got 17, I guess not much chance to see any more as it stands. The ones highest on the list I haven’t been to are Vienna, Rome, the most Serene republic of San Marino and Ljubljana
 
Guys pushing coke and weed are everywhere in Lisbon (and Porto). They're not aggressive though. Weirdly I went with a girlfriend and they only ever approached me, never her. Maybe I just look like the kind of guy who can't go on holiday without getting fucked up.

Lisbon is so beautiful though, I'm really keen to go back - it was January last time, and still gorgeous.
