I don't see an option to add more, but Samsung Health

Only downside is it doesn't nag me quite like when I was on the Apple side.

I check my step count on Samsung Health. That's it. I feel like it's going to take the inevitable heart attack to get back into HEALTHY WAYS.

I track my steps via Apple Fitness+ with my Apple watch then I track my workouts on Strong (great app if you weight train).

I also use Nutra Check to calorie count when doing a cut.

Is anyone using any AI- weight training/ personal training apps? I’ve been using ChatGPT as a personal trainer for a while and though it’s been useful, I feel I’m plateauing and I really don't like manually logging stuff in there rather than it all being in one place. I use (free) JEFIT to log work outs and I don’t see much beyond the logging angle there…

What are you plateauing with exactly?

I said I feel I'm plateauing- I'm a bit bored, though physically I'm looking better than ever, I want better results and I'm not convinced I'm doing the right stuff to achieve that. ChatGPT keeps telling me to keep things as they are as my weights are still pretty much going up, but I don't necessarily know if that's all I should be doing. Spending the time logging everything and asking the questions seems a slog. There's lots of online talk about AI-based PT apps, which supposedly act more intuitively in recommending program tweaks etc., but I've no experience/knowledge of whether they are advanced enough to be any good.

(I started writing the below then realised it wasn’t really related to what you were asking but I might as well post it now anyway :) ).

I plateaued long long a go and have kinda just accepted it unfortunately and apart from doing a stint on the steroids I’m not going to get much bigger.

That’s really great your weights are still going up and I still can achieve by that by going on a “bulk phase” for 3 months and tie this in with really wanting to increase numbers on at least one compound exercise. So 2 years a go it was bench press and this year it was shoulder press and I did see results! I find when doing this I really like to change the specific workout too so I went from a 4 x 10 reps bench press to 5 x 5 reps bench which essentially reset all my numbers so could see positive affirmations very quickly.

Brand new routines help me too, introducing drop sets, adding more volume into a week so can do push pull legs push pull legs (ignore trying to fit this into a calendar week) with switching up of exercises for the second round. A new routine helps me similar to above because your numbers essentially reset. Doing a shoulder press at the beginning of a workout means you can lift more on that exercise rather than it coming midway and you’re already fatigued.

Can also focus on a particular muscle group - I blew my arms up doing a day just dedicated to the tricep and a day dedicated to the bicep and enjoyed that for 6 months or so.

Think what I’m trying to say there’s no dark art to this that AI can help with. What you’re already achieving sounds really great and you are doing it right.

I found this Reddit post really encouraging for me in confirming I was never doing anything wrong and it can actually be a quite simple affair.

I’m pretty much doing this at the minute but as PUSH PULL PUSH PULL and I like it. It takes around an hour to do but I get volume from doing it twice a week with variations on each exercise.

I have a few spreadsheets of different routines over the years I can share if that helps.

See, that level of technical detail isn't at all what I was asking...but was really fucking interesting and I literally have no idea about this stuff. Thank you! I'll take a proper look at that Reddit.

I probably need to bite the bullet with a decent PT for a bit, maybe, to point me in the right direction, but I've never found the right one really...

So I’ve finally settled on using Gravl…

…and I absolutely love it. Early days, but loving the mix up in workouts, it seems super useful and easy to use and my only (slight) issue is it seems to think I’m a bit stronger than I am so I’m manually reducing suggested weights down a bit, but that’s ok to begin with, and it apparently learns and gets better for you.

I’ve been aching like a bitch the last few days, feels like it’s really pushing me.

Are you aware if it compensates for calorie intake? Reading about it last night I liked that it was aware you’re not always able to get on the same machines in the same order and will recalculate etc. but does it do the same with calories? If I’m on a cut it’s very unlikely I would be able to progressive overload.

I've made a conscious decision to try to use less devices, so I've ditched my Apple Watch and fitness apps. I'm so tired of the emphasis we place on tech in so many aspects of our lives now.

Disclaimer: Do whatever works for you obviously!

I don't think so, but it's currently beta testing a macros app as an add-on (which they claim will add-on for a low price point) which I'm guessing will have that built in at some point.

Reddit has a load of info on it, so someone will have asked that question if you search.

I'm beginning to feel the same, but it's a no-brainer for me as I really NEED something to push me here and it's an area I need that advice in.

I'd never heard of this until I saw your post and set it up last night. Going to try my first workout tomorrow. Did you pay for the premium plan?
