Which is the better upbeat Shania song?

Please think carefully

  • Man! I Feel Like A Woman!

  • That Don't Impress Me Much

"Man! I feel like a woman" is indeed amazing, but I had to go with "That don't impress me much". It was such an interesting sound, the lyrics were fun (for Europe???) and I'm pretty sure it was what took her album to No.1 in the UK (and kept it there for .... how many weeks was it??? about 500?)

I think it still stands as one of the best selling albums of all time.

I prefer I'm Gonna Getcha Good to both of these, that one really brings out something in me :disco:

The US version of Come On Over was more country than the European version, which replaced some tracks with pop remixes.

Yes, I accidentally pressed play on it some time ago and I wasn't sure what had gone wrong with the songs I had come to love.
Then, I realised I was listening to the wrong version.

Oh christ no - to me 'I'm Gonna Getcha Good' (sic) is a genuinely horrible song. The sound of creative bankruptcy. The worst kind of basic, with the most appalling lyrics. It sounds like it was written by a child.

I think ‘with lots of money and things’ trumps it in the fuckawful Shania Twain lyrics category.

You’re a FINE piece of real estate
And I’m gonna get me some LAND :disco:

Getcha Good is fun but as with most of Up! it was a step down

also gagging at the HORROR of the non-remixed originals on Come on Over :D

I can only listen to the original album. the way they made so many songs AC-ified for Europe was ridiculous and corny. country version of Impress Me Much FOREVER :disco:

You bring SHAME to your CONTINENT!

The differences between the original and the remixed versions of That Don't Impress Me Much and Don't Be Stupid are very noticeable. Still, maybe I'm going deaf because when I listen to the Man!'s mixes, I notice SUBTLE differences; throwing a random fiddle here and there does not make it a "country mix"!

Also, the fact that From This Moment On had like 8 different mixes that can't be told apart (Except maybe length and a cheesy spoken intro) is a bit of a gag: Pop Radio Remix, Pop On Tour, The Right Mix, Single Mix, International Mix, Solo Mix, Vocal Mix.
Miss Taylor variations WHOMST?
