Just the one New York. Probably the most thrilling place I've ever been.
 
Just Florida and although not a state I’ve also been to Puerto Rico.

Staten Island is part of New York City

And the Staten Island Ferry is the best way to see the Statue of Liberty imo

I was lucky enough to spend a fortnight there in September 2000. Got to do the majority of the major attractions including the original World Trade Center in it's last year.

We got great pics! But were then a bit surprised when then ferry seemed to just carry on past it...

I’ve only been to the US once and it was to Chicago to play a tennis tournament. I was talked into going as a trip to the US was never on my schedule or one of my priority trips but having a friend living there as well as being cajoled into going as I was going to Montreal to play anyway helped me make the decision. I have to say I absolutely loved the city and would like to return one day.

When I lived in New York, I used to babysit a kid in Staten Island so I took the ferry a couple times a week
 
New York and California.

New York like Ag said was a thrill, exactly how it is in the movies :disco:

In California I did bits of LA (very tacky!) and San Diego (home to the world's hottest men FACT!)
 
We went to the Statue of Liberty but didn't go in. We couldn't be arsed having been in two skyscrapers already. We just sat on the lawn underneath, eating hot dogs starring at the Manhattan skyline.
 
I stupidly took a very strong anti-sickness tablet for the boat ride to the Statue of Liberty and it basically shut me down. I could barely keep my eyes open so the whole memory is a big blur.
 
We visited the island where the immigrants would enter the US... was that Staten Island? It was 21 years ago!
 
I've been to 24 states (not counting ones I've driven through).

Minnesota is my favorite in theory, although I've never been there.
Georgia might actually be my favorite though. All the actual good ones are too cold.
Atlanta is great, the nature in the state is beautiful, and we vote Democrat :disco: :disco: :disco:

My least favorite is Florida. it just gives me a weird feeling every time I am there
 
I've been to Texas twice as I have a friend from near Houston. I first went in 2006 and stayed with my friend, and her dad had banned The Chicks from the house. I had to furtively buy their album in Walmart and sneak it back to the house with me.
 
I've never been. I was meant to go to NY years ago with some friends but couldn't really afford it, so I stayed home and read BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S instead.

My dad didn't like me to listen to The Chicks either, but he didn't ban them really, so I still did. Even though he's a Democrat, he thought it was disrespectful to insult the president. Luckily, he came around to insulting the president when it was Trump

Good for him! I remember my friend saying her dad had been listening to lots of conservative radio in the car going to work and it really skewed his politics.

I wonder if Texas will ever join the other big four States and become an attractive place to visit.

Conservative talk radio is the doing so much damage to America. Luckily my parents are on the more liberal side (especially my mother, who despises Trump, canvassed for Ossoff, and when to a BLM rally with me)

Big cities in all states are liberal, modern places. Its just the rural areas and suburbs holding it back
 
I wish I’d been to more but it’s pretty much the generic California, New York, New Jersey, Florida and Washington (a quick few days in Seattle).

I have family in California and Pennsylvania but my mum said the place in PA was a ghost town when she visited her mad sister there so I don’t quite fancy it. Obviously I’d rather visit the cousins in San Diego instead.
 
A friend in the queer meet up group in Milan surprised me when he was talking about how liberal Houston is and how easy it is to find an LGBT+ community as opposed to in a place like Milan, the most liberal and developed city in a western European country. It made me feel a little ignorant about America in general.
