I wonder if he listened to Confessions II, his last word on Madonna after seeing the Celebration tour was a bit catty
 
he was really incredibly rude about her many times :D no surprise she ignored the alleged "Ray of Light 2.0" he sent over
 
he was credited as an engineer which is probably just a credit for his (studio) arrangements

For me, I think Black Coffee is the best marriage of his - for want of a better phrase 'key sound' at that time - to a really relatable song about people just quietly being the happy they can do, even if they don't always do a good job of living in that moment. If that makes sense.

It is a disgrace that people forsook his Adagio for the obnoxious Tiesto version
 
He truly did elevate Blur from making pub novelty songs. 13 and Think Tank (though the one song is the best song) are their best work because of William Orbit.

I suggest you listen to the eponymous album, released in 1997 in between The Great Escape and 13. That will divest you of that notion. Orbit's major contribution was realising how important the group's jams were and letting them run a song down for half an hour and then editing the best bits together and presenting that as an arrangement. Something like 'Bugman' or 'Trimm Trabb' would never have come together without Orbit.
 
Writing a new verse for Fragile. Actually, a William Orbit remix of that would surely have been wonderful.
 
Madonna’s actually today right in the middle of having her vocals produced by Stuart Price. She may say something following that but… remains unclear.

It certainly explains her one sentence post. Poor thing probably had an entire queue tutting as she got her phone out to pay respect. Apparently one cruel person with an empty stomach supposed it was a booty call until Mel snapped she was on her phone for Willy and not booty.
