William Orbit DEAD (1 Viewer)

To whom exactly?

Not William - its clearly showing him love and remembering some of his many highlights. Its also noting his later relationships as being in places strained. I don’t see that as disrespectful in the least.

Sorry suedey. I've posted some less than serious stuff in here. It wasn't meant to upset or provoke anyone x
It’s just a bit strange. This man has just died and everyone is joking about who has said something yet or not like it’s some funny kiki thing. I just don’t find it funny. Only my opinion. Paying respects by sharing memories and anecdotes is one thing but turning a death into a joke fest is not my thing. I know some others will have replied coming at me but they’re on ignore anyway. Carry on as you were. I’m out of here. I will pay respects in the Madonna forum thread.

If Moopy humour in a DEAD thread isn't acceptable, we have an entire forum we may need to delete

I'M SORRY CAPTAIN TOM
And you know what? Maybe we should. I’ve always found the entire thing morbid and deeply unfunny. And don’t get me started with the capitalisation in the thread titles.

If you want to have a conversation about Moopy let’s start with this sort of thing right here rather than point fingers at individual posters as the discourse often descends into.

Sorry moderators and Admin - none of this is aimed at you. It’s about the community in general

Oh I agree about the capitals aspect. I found it unbearable a year or two ago when my family lost 3 of us and I found it bizarre. But I did consider it okay, now, to go off topic somewhat with the Mel Blatt burger van comment. To be honest, I don't think William Orbit would take offence to that, but I'm mindful of how strongly I've felt in the past (I had the entire Zsa Zsa forum on ignore - and would immediately do it again if one of the icons I genuinely love passed away, so I totally get what is being said). In fact, I think I asked for my post about Genevieve Waite dying to be deleted as the replies were ghastly. Anyway, lesson learned. If I think I've something irreverent and edgy to post, I will do better to post it somewhere that isn't seemingly designed to mark someone's passing (unless they were someone unequivocally horrible).

I won't say you're wrong, and I wouldn't argue against it going.

But I personally also can't be the one campaigning loudly for it, as I've definitely contributed my fair share of irreverence. That will go for many other Moopy members.

So all I can say is it should be consistent. By comparison, this is actually one of the kinder threads, and if we get upset here we need to also be upset about Cilla Blacks and Prince Philips regardless of whether they have fans here.

I'm actually a really big fan of Cilla Black. Her spiteful arrogance was astounding :disco:

I totally forgot that he was also behind Katie Melua's "The Flood"

Which without any irony remains one of my very favourites of the 2010s. If he could make Melua interesting, maybe he could indeed have made Cilla listenable

Oh come on.

I really had in my head that he produced 'On and On' by All Saints on Studio 1, but he didn't!

Anyway, what a catalogue :(

I put myself together a little William Orbit playlist on the plane last night and it was all bops

I realise how much I have underrated his contributions to Music. Amazing is such a lovely little pop song. And let's not pretend that American Pie (Madge's Version) is not the definitive and only reading of that song.

And how was Go! the Melanie C I have been sleeping on all these years? She absolutely slaps.
