The 80s weather girl died in December apparently, but it's only just been announced. She was 76.

For a SECOND there I got Wincey Willis and Rustie Lee mixed up in my head (because of MOOPY) and I GASPED

Still, RIP to a woman way more famous to me with moopy memes than actual real life fame.

Oh, I’d never have put her at 76!

I thought that whenever the last time I looked her up/ thought about her was but she was clearly in her 30s by the TV-AM days, so it makes sense really.

Her lasting legacy will always be as a great answer in the name game Drink While You Think.

(Real life CELEBRITY FOO BUMP if you will)

Let’s hope she’s up there with GORDON HONEYCOMBE handing over to her for the latest forecast around the PEARLY GATES right now.

Well ANNEKA RICE will never DIVULGE the secrets of the TREASURE HUNT ORGIES so now we'll NEVER KNOW :(

Willis took several years out to be a conservation volunteer around the world, at one point living in a tent on a Greek beach for six months whilst she guarded the local turtle population. :disco:

I loved Wincey Willis for her Treasure Hunt days - one of my all time favourite shows. ‘Annie, you’re 8 minutes behind schedule..’

Oh no :(

When hun culture became a thing, one of my first thoughts was that Wincey would have been queen of it had it happened 40 years earlier

I have to be honest, much like Faloola Chong and Shirley Clamp for others, she’s somebody I was never ENTIRELY sure was a real person and not a Moopy creation.

I got to know Wincey over Twitter in around 2015. She was lovely, but behaved very erratically. She would invite random people over to stay with her at her house in Hereford. These were people she barely knew and they would spend weekends drinking Merlot. She even invited me at one point, but I didn't go.

And she always seemed not quite with it. For example, I once tagged Channel 4 and said I'd love to see a documentary about Treasure Hunt. I then replied tagging Wincey, Anneka and Annabel asking if they'd be interested. Wincey replied asking "Doing what?? :-))" and I said that I had suggested to Channel 4 a documentary about Treasure Hunt.

Wincey said, "Let me know the details if & when it is likely to happen" - as if I was making it! - and then said "Will be hard to do it without Kenneth. He was a great friend."

To which I replied, "I know. This should have been done when he was still with us. Lovely man. I know you both had a love of dogs."

Then Wincey bizarrely snapped, "It would have been better if we were asked to do it before suggesting it to Channel 4!"

But that was soon water under the bridge and she wished me a happy birthday a month later and was happy for me when I got a new job.

Then, in around 2016, she just vanished from Twitter. After having been very active on there for years. I thought about her a lot and hoped she was ok, but in my mind, I wondered if something had happened to her. I guess the dementia was taking hold and she was receiving care.

RIP Wincey

This is both sad and amusing in equal measures.

I do love that her death wasn't even reported for 6 months and yet she appears to be the 2nd biggest celebrity death on Moopy this year after Kim Woodburn. I love the subversiveness of this place so much. it's impossible to explain to anyone else.

*Edit* Tell a lie I didn't go far enough back - can't believe that The Vivienne was this year. Time goes weird in my head sometimes.
