World Cup 2026

If we win the group then it’s:

Round of 32 - 5pm kick-off (Atlanta)
Round of 16 - 1am kick-off (Mexico City)
Quarter-final - 10pm kick-off (Miami)
Semi-final - 8pm kick-off (Atlanta)
Final - 8pm kick-off (New York)
I mean it's all East Coast (Mexico City might be), but it's like moving from Oslo to Tunis surely. It's a bloody continent hosting.

The local organising committee in Seattle are planning to organise pro-LGBT+ celebrations at their match on 26 June, which has turned out to be between Iran and Egypt. Needless to say, they are both demanding that FIFA cancel all events promoting homosexuality in the stadium on match day. I’m sure that FIFA will send a strong signal on moral integrity by insisting that the events remain in place.

Bloody HAGGIS DEVILS getting an extra bank holiday  England should get one after a scrappy 1-0 win in our opening match against Croatia.

With the caveat that only Scottish Government workers are guaranteed to get the day off. Everyone else is at the mercy of their employer, which means they probably won't get it.

But it sounds good announcing it just as you head into an election... :eyes:

European play-off semi-finals tonight. Hoping Italy are knocked out (for the third time in a row) by the mighty Northern Ireland :disco:

REPRESENTING THE MOTHERLAND IN THE GYM THIS MORNING :disco:

Having paid no attention to the timings, I've only just realised that all bar one of the matches tonight are on at the same time. WHY? It's a knockout tournament, so surely there's no advantage to it? Wouldn't it be better to stagger and let fans watch more matches? Or am I missing something?

(It's also a massive ballache from a work scheduling perspective too, but...)

Yep it’s annoying. England v Japan also clashes with the play-off finals on Tuesday (which are also all at the same time).

It's almost as if no one's thought this throu...OH!

I don't understand it. I mean, in the UK alone, there's two matches (arguably three) which would garner high tv ratings...

Italy knock Northern Ireland out

Republic of Ireland and Wales both into extra time..

Ireland also lose on penalties.

EDIT: Madison got there first

Tuesday’s fixtures are

Bosnia & Herzegovina v Italy
Sweden v Poland
Kosovo v Turkey (:disco:)
Czech Republic v Denmark

I mean it’s the least they deserve after making us sit through this years Sanremo.

Italy out!
Sweden not winning a single game in the group stage and somehow getting through here!

These play offs have been fun!

I mean I can live with Shakira nipping out to do a rendition of Waka Waka but let’s leave it there.
