X-Men '97 (released in 2024) + Season 2 coming *soon* (1 Viewer)

Rogue's suicide fakeout was such a gag. She literally un-re-suicided-murdered Trask.

Why couldn't we have had amazing dark raging drawling suicide-enforcement Rogue in the movies?

Incredible

The idea that an elderly gentleman who for all of his life has been able to move heavy objects without any physical effort, has somehow still been finding the time to pop down to PureGym for a couple of hours every day :disco:

This episode was one gag after the next. The Britney Army coming for every mutant, the elitist Latina mother throwing her son under the bus, the elderly mother SPASMING into a robot, circuit gay Magneto slaying the house down boots, Professor X parking his ass into the mansion :D :disco:

Holy fucking shit. I don't know if anyone's watched yet so no spoilers etc but there is a LOT to talk about from this episode.

As soon as I saw one particular visual I suddenly realised the storyline they'd be recreating :disco:

That last scene was GRUESOME.

Rogue is such a great character. And Sinister's shadow shenanigans :disco:

Rogue : "I will not see any more mutants die"

New leader / lover immediately EVISCERATES Rogue's long-standing teammate

With every episode, this series is proving such a GLOW UP from the original. It's obviously revelling in being able to tell more nuanced stories, now that they're not restricted to black-and-white good vs bad tales for the 10 year olds.

A much more fluid cast too. I don't think there was a single permanent changr in the 90s, but this one feels like we'll end the season with an entirely different roster of heroes and "villains".

I'd forgotten how terrible some of the 80s artwork could be. This would fit in with those "Worst Rob Liefeld Drawings" countdowns.

Impossible body proportions

Gritted teeth

Female characters pulling seductive poses no matter the situation or environment

Improbable guns with giant gaping holes

So many lines

The only thing missing are 48 pouches around Forge's right thigh.

I still find it strange that they brought out the 60’s mini-dress costume for Jean. Though I guess she never really had any memorable costumes besides the Phoenix costume and it at least got rid of the ponytail.

Also I wonder if we are getting

I mean it’s logical but man that was a TERRIBLE time in the comics

No wonder Rogue said a big fuck you to the good and forgetful Professor

I don't necessarily LIKE the idea of her becoming a villain. But it also makes COMPLETE sense.

I didn't hate Jean's 60s mini skirt. It's Cyclops who I think had the costume downgrade. Covering his hair makes him look like an INDIFFERENT INSECT.

I'm assuming season 2 is in the bag. This has been so well received, and some of the voice actors have suggested they've already recorded their parts.

I honestly don’t think they were expecting it to be this popular. I hope they stick to what’s working and don’t try to get too overboard with it.

I don't think I hate any artist as much as Liefeld. So fucking LAZY he can't be bothered to draw feet, and when he does they're literally standing on point.
