Hello

Having a 5 year old is a great way of highlighting all your shortcomings you've spent a lifetime avoiding. I am currently on the floor surrounded by string attempting to tie a kite and last night had to concede defeat in making a cheapo Made in China "balloon helicopter" because the balloons just wouldn't inflate. It's no wonder parents resort to "TV time" when actual THINGS WITH YOUR HANDS are so complicated.

I remember clearly looking at parents shoving an iPad in front of kids and saying we'd never do that. The reality is fuck that.
 
Just made up Ms Rons present. Its a tasteful black and white picture of a topless kate moss. Its fucking life size. Can't wait to see my mums reaction to some Christmas morning nipples.
 
Agreed to go to Tesco this morning and not only have I been roped into seeing an elderly relative I’ve never met in my life, I’ve just been asked: “Do you want to go and see (distant cousin I haven’t seen for twenty years)’s new house?”

Absolutely not! He finds the ideas of elves and tooth fairies and toys coming to life quite creepy. Think it's his not so happy past (:() Santa however seems to have a free pass :eyes:
 
I'd written off today as I've been waiting for three deliveries (all presents) two of which wouldn't even give any estimate of when they would be arriving.

But they have all arrived by 11.30, and now I feel like I've got lots of possibilities. Mr L has gone to visit family in Wales. Unfortunately having to stay in for deliveries meant I couldn't join him QUEL DOMMAGE.

I feel like I ought to go out now I can, but I think an afternoon of drinking sherry, watching shit Christmas films and finishing a few bits of wrapping may be in order.

Good luck @It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Tischmas - my 7yr old nephew has got into Lego in a big way and the instructions on some of those kits are like hieroglyphics. Of course, he understands them perfectly and happily clicks bits and bobs together while my brother (and occasionally, I) put on our reading glasses and furrow our brows.
 
Might have to see if I can get the doc to write me a note. Not spending weeks at the High Court, no siree.
 
I think we're all sorted for food shopping, except for a bit of green veg. Might just get that from the Co-op later.
 
Wrapping presents, im fucking shit at it :disco: MAYBE ITS ‘CAUSE IM LEFT HANDED!

Takeaway for dinner later and possibly a Christmas film, then tomorrow I’m going to buy our Christmas Day dessert from M&S!
 
I'm left handed but I used to be good at wrapping presents with brown paper, string, bows, the occasional holly leaf and shit. These days my wrapping would best be described as perfunctory.
 
We have the horrors of Aldi in mere minutes. Not a real meal whatsoever lined up. Unless you include the charcuterie board we're creating to gorge on this evening.
 
We just went into the hell of Big Tesco, queued for half hour to buy THREE THINGS then my mum was like “we’ll come back and do the proper shop later” !!??

I swear boomers live off stress like it’s cocaine.
 
I'm pretty good at wrapping presents neatly, but only because I have to wrap parcels pretty often at work so had to learn it. I used to be AWFUL at it (I'm left handed too, and generally not very coordinated).
 
Mum has a house full of food but seems to have forgotten we need to eat tonight.

Presents wrapped, last bits purchased, even braved a supermarket which wasnt hell. Done in. Were going out for a curry tonight 🙃

I was in Morrisons last night about 7pm and you'd have thought another lockdown had been announced. It looked like the aftermath of a riot.
 
Only two people in front of me in the queue in Aldi. Tesco (a large Express) I had a slightly longer wait at, but no more than 5 minutes.

Fuck doing a big shop. Are you all QUITE MAD?
 
Aldi was absolutely fine. Normal amount of customers and the shelves were well stocked. Although I do need to top up at Sainsburys or Tesco.
 
I'm a bit hungover, although most of it came out my mouth when I woke up at 4am needing to vomit. I'm virtually never sick, but that's mixing wines for you.
