Completely forgot tomorrow is Christmas Eve as I'm visiting my gran (her first in a home), since I've got flowers coming before the visit. So now a 6am M&S visit tomorrow it is. Oh lord.

Also, @Underneath the Shee I'm going sea swimming on Boxing Day. Never done it before.

I've been told not to go in slowly and hesitate, just go in and get under the water and then once it stops feeling cold get out. Does that sound right?

Only two people in front of me in the queue in Aldi. Tesco (a large Express) I had a slightly longer wait at, but no more than 5 minutes.

Fuck doing a big shop. Are you all QUITE MAD?

I usually do click and collect. But being off kilter this week everything went out the window. So last minute panic shopping instead.

According to Mandy, our shop is pretty busy with a lot of lost and confused men wandering around picking up any box of fudge they can find and chuckling to themselves and to Mandy that "it's already wrapped, one less thing for me to do".

I was in town yesterday. I'd say noticeably less busy than it was a couple of Saturdays ago, EXCEPT for Pandora - where there was a queue to get in, approx 75% men.

That was exactly the same as last year as well.

I think us and the plant shop, and the shop that sells loads of gin, have been the busiest in town this weekend not that I'm complaining. Unimaginative men are our target Christmas market.

I'm sure that's normal, they'll come out when they're ready. It might be an idea to have the food and litter tray not too far from the room they're in (or even in the room), then gradually move them back towards were they should be over the next few days.

Mandy and I aren't buying for each other this year. It seems pointless when we don't need anything.

Well I did think this, but he's under our bed where he feels safe. I don't really want the litter tray in our bedroom. But the food is near the doorway.

We calculated how much money we've spent on food this Xmas and considering there's just two of us, it's absolutely disgraceful and I can't wait. Friends will say I've ballooned.

First fight of the festivities was my brother walking in to the house and saying it doesn’t look as Christmassy as it usually does. In all fairness he has a point but I wasn’t here to watch them wrap the whole bloody place up.

Completely the opposite. Take your time and regulate your breathing and be really aware. It will be freezing but jumping in and just going for it is the biggest mistake amateurs make.

It’s the new year/ Boxing Day crowd. They think it’s better to get it over with- and there is that argument- but it can be dangerous if you’re not used to it.
