Folklore, 1989, Midnights.

I think Evermore is too patchy for such a long album but her albums tend to the lengthy.

I think she'll be seen as quintessentially 10s in later years, in the same way that Coldplay are absolutely 00s despite still being a huge touring act.

her artistic magnum opuses imo (the stats are on my side so you all can CHOKE)

1. THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT
2. Midnights

i had a marvelous time... but kinda overrated

3. Red
4. evermore
5. folklore
6. 1989

it's actually sweeeet, it could've been an EP

7. Reputation
8. The Life of a Showgirl
9. Speak Now

thank you for the lovely bouquet you're sweeter than a peach but besides a few select life-defining tracks it's unlistenable

10. Lover
11. Fearless
12. Taylor Swift

i hated Lover for so many reasons.. the queer-baiting, the forced "bright" theme after reputation, it being a "love" album but you can hear how miserable she was even in the love songs like Afterglow, Daylight, and Lover.... "can I go where you go?" is such a sad clingy line. girl GET A GRIP for fuck's sake. but honestly, the music is weak as a whole. besides Death, F God, Cruel, Cornelia, and I Think He Knows, the rest should have stayed in the vault. during that period 2017-2019 even she knew that it was game over for her. in the miss americana documentary she basically said something along the lines of “these are my last few years of selling over 500k first week” cut to her in the studio making ME! the bitch was AWARE that it was game over for her because of ME!, You Need To Calm Down, and 80% of Lover. thank god for Corona which forced her hyper adhd "gel pen" into quarantine and had her recreate 17 different shades of her best song of all time (Safe and Sound) which in turn opened the world's (and her) eyes to her true indie genius, and then she reminded everyone that Red exists one year later... let's not act like the Safe and Sound albums (folklore and evermore) and Red TV didn't save her career after Lover nearly decimated it.

Folklore

with Evermore and Red both knocking on the door

I would listen to Folklore, 1989, Red and maybe Speak Now as albums, but otherwise I'd take a handful of tracks and run. Or in the case of TTPD, I'd just run.

It changes all the time but at the moment it's red, the tortured poets department and midnight's.
