The MADAME Lounge

I don't think she's had any noticeable work done at all. She just has some extra lines, WHICH DOES HAPPEN

Oh she definitely HAS although I obviously approve because this is, after all, MADAME. It's all in the lower face (including cheeks) and neck: everything below the eyes, basically. There's a much fuller look than there was. Mercifully she seems not to tamper with the forehead so we still get demonic frowns :disco:

That said, Madame only goes to the most exclusive and expensive surgeons OBVIOUSLY so it's always going to be relatively subtle

If she has had plastic surgery, she's had the right amount. She looks TOTALEMENT NATURELLE. I also imagine her to be the sort of woman who doesn't stand under the sun for more than FIVE MINUTES.

Obviously there's nothing Madame CAN'T do, but one thing she does exceptionally well is take direction and thank God for that, otherwise she might end up with a face like a space hopper, not to point the finger in any particular direction OBVIOUSLY

I mean, she obviously took the role just for the opportunity to bang Gaspard Ulliel ON SCREEN, but I knew it was going to be a dud since I saw that TERRIBLE POSTER.

Not MADAME in a POLYESTER WIG.

Look at this MISOGYNISTIC TWADDLE from some NOBODY on IMDB though

Isabelle Huppert, at 65, should stop playing a seductress if she remains fully clothed in all scenes. A body-double could also be used if her age is the problem. Visual effects keep her face ridiculously youthful and it is in contrast with the faces of male actors that show their real age.

Oh they can very much FUCK OFF!

I'm clinically unable to discuss anything apart from Madame today, so here's a quite old interview including the following:
Interviewer: "You're a private person, yet as an actress you go out literally naked..."

Madame: "On stage?"

Interviewer: "On film."

Madame: "Very rarely."

Interviewer: "Do you understand the point that I'm making?"

Madame: "No."

:D:D:D

J'ADORE the fact that she does all these pulpy French films that are totally beneath her provided they continue to feed into her PSYCHOSEXUAL MYTHOS which she obviously is very much aware of :disco:

that interview is incredible.

"Do you know that thing the southern Spanish say about the Catalans?" I ask her. "That they are so secretive that, if you're in a department store, waiting for the lift, and the door opens and there's a Catalan is inside, they won't even tell you if it's going up or down?"

"That can't apply to me, because... I am going to tell you a little private detail about myself, now."

"Feel free."

"I am claustrophobic. I never take lifts."
["I am claustrophobic," Huppert told a French interviewer, six years ago. "I hate lifts."]
:D

Perhaps it should be made into a film, starring Madame AS Madame :disco:

"You know what this conversation reminds me of? Have you seen that play Variations Enigmatiques, by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, that Alain Delon performed a few years back?"

"No. I know of it."

"It's about a journalist who's sent to interview a reclusive artist, played by Delon. He shoots at the reporter, actually."

"Really? He shoots at a journalist?" asks Huppert, whose sense of humour never quite deserts her. She puts on a "now I'm interested" look. "At the beginning of the interview, or at the end?" :D

"You have three children – I imagine I'm walking on dangerous territory here..."

"Oh, listen, you've been walking on dangerous territory for almost two hours, so don't start saying that now. This," she adds, very good-naturedly, "cannot get any worse."

I want ALL her interviews to be published in a BIG GLOSSY BOOK with lots of FABULOUS PHOTOS. :disco:

:D I also like the mention of her "now I'm interested" look in that interview

As opposed to being bored or irritated presumably :disco:

There was a great interview (in The Guardian, I think) where she apparently sort of WANDERED OFF halfway through :D:disco:

Quite a few highlights here as well:
“I play states of mind… character is a perception for whoever sees the film but not for myself. I don’t play a character. I just play an encounter between me and certain states of mind. Is that clear?”

Journalists who have interviewed her in the past have suggested that she has become friendlier and more open (:side-eye:) since her Oscar nomination last year. Put this to her and she replies: “Not necessarily. Maybe I am more awake this morning.”

:disco::D:disco:

Well I know what I'LL be wanting from Santa :disco:

Am finally getting round to watching ‘Souvenir’ (the one where Madame works in the pâté factory :disco:) and it really is a silly load of old nonsense which I’m quite enjoying regardless. I mean as if that shabby little ditty would be chosen for ANY contest, and especially not when sung like THAT :side-eye:

FINALLY gave it a go. Worked very well for a Sunday night, left me slightly e,osh in a good way :D

Oh i notice she is appearing in Dix pour cent (call my agent) soon. I assume she’ll be playing herself as an absolute bitch :disco:

I watched 'Copacabana' over the weekend in which Madame plays wonderfully AGAINST TYPE as a down-on-her-luck, slightly eccentric boho who winds up selling timeshare apartments in out-of-season Ostend to impress her daughter to HILLARIE RESULTS. Her real daughter plays the daughter in the film which adds an interest subtext.

It's wonderful to see roles for older, intelligent women in films that do not try to emotionally manipulate the audience into thinking they're either HARPIES or HEROINES. God bless LA COMÉDIE FRANÇAISE. I MUCH recommend :disco:

I want to see “Golden Youth” starring MADAME and the absolutely beautiful Lukas Ionesco (who I am currently obsessed with). It seems VERY FRENCH, so much so that I doubt it will be released elseWHERE.

it looks DEBAUCHED! :disco:

I was in Paris for a SOIRÉE a few weeks ago and the subject of MADAME came up in conversation (I may have brought it up PEUT ETRE). I am happy to report that the general consensus round a table of French women and homosexuals was "she loves taking her clothes off and cavorting with men who could be her sons on film".

ICÔNE.

she's doing a play with Justice Smith - the body language here is quite something :disco:

I wonder how much she charged to let a lesser mortal take her hand?

THREE WEEKS.

Obviously the DELAY is the fault of that VILE PIG.

I have enjoyed MADAME doing the promotion circuit on ropey American TV. :D

She must have hated this fucking pair of muppets

“CONVERSATION WITH A VAMPIRE” :disco:

Countdown starts HERE! :disco:

I was quite certain that the VILE PIG probably had something to do with it. Hopefully MADAME will take the knife to all her most beloved teddies and hopefully HER :disco:

I’ve just watched that interview and there’s a definite sense of MADAME looking at the audience for help about five seconds in

Also, the EYES when the vile pig starts yapping about the relationship that they (supposedly) build together!

Madame: Remind me to NEVER DO THIS AGAIN

My favourite part is MADAME keeping a dignified silence whilst they’re all harping on about the cinematic powerhouse that is LEGALLY BLONDE.

:D I mean the FUCKING CHEEK of it. I bet these peasants - including and especially the VILE PIG - have never even heard of ‘The Piano Teacher’. I expect even ‘I Heart Huckabees’ was a bit too AVANT-GARDE

Also, :D at “Is there something you wish you could do that you can’t”?

*MADAME looks directly at VILE PIG*
