I have gone for Arya Stark in the hope we get another female on the iron throne. I do think it is likely to be JON though.

Do we think that there's even a chance that the final episode will be even half-satisfying?

Have we had this

It was a horrible episode* :(

The writing has gone to shit. Why is everything on fast forward? No character development at all any more, they all feel like lego figures now fighting at random. This all started last season but this one is even worse for it. Last week we were in full teleportation mode with the ridiculously quick battle where Euron killed a dragon and then it moves onwards again with no aftermath, no grieving, no time to get in any character's head anymore.

Is there a reason they've rushed these last two seasons? It's the biggest show in the world, you'd think they'd ALL want more episodes out of it. Can you imagine if the Red Wedding or Ned's death had been in this season? The shock and impact would be 5% of what it was at the time.

I also hate how it feels like we're supposed to be grateful for characters getting one final emotional scene together that dares to threaten even a touch of depth e.g Jaime and Tyrion. Fuck you, you used to give us scenes like that every 5 minutes! Cersei has spoken this entire season combined less than she would in an average episode before. Basically consisting of:

Comical line - smirk - smirk some more - cry a bit - get crushed by a building

So much utter shit.

*I still enjoyed the spectacle. Incredible to think this was an episode of a TV show and it was still sad seeing things come to a head and characters get offed, however shoddy it's been.

So HBO offered the writers more money but apparently it was their decision and vision that’s meant we are on fast forward

I totally agree about the character development, had we seen Dany grieve more for what she hasn’t lost you could start to justify her actions but as it was we had a line from Varys and a close up of her with no make up on

What a miserable, overrated show this is

:D

It really wasn't overrated to begin with. They earned those stripes for sure, especially with season 3 and 4. I'm just glad I got into it late all things told and I'm not a total loon about it otherwise I'd be devastated about this outcome.

My friend is nuts for it (she's having a GoT themed party this weekend, has been on the tours etc) and is LIVID how it's all turned out.

Their "vision" is as bad as Melisandre's has been since the start!

What shit - absolutely no one was bored of the pacing before, now it's one big action fest. They clearly had other reasons i.e they were fed up of doing it themselves.

Yeah, they aren't interested anymore and it shows. They're getting big money deals to do a Star Wars trilogy etc and they clearly just want this all over, but they should've handed over to another showrunner who could do it justice. Seeing the way they've butchered this show and these characters is terribly sad.

I can't wait until it's all over and the cast start speaking freely about the shithousery.

I'm PRAYING it's all a deliberate plan to get everyone boiling only to give us something magical in the final episode.

...lemme dream, k?

OMG! :D

Damn if I was Conleth Hill I'd be pissed at what they did to Varys. But happy about no longer having to wear that bald cap.

I kept thinking about the episode in which Stannis burns Princess Shireen alive, and the way you actually understood why it was happening despite the fact that she was a sweet innocent and Stannis was mildly deranged. The storytelling was so strong. In STARK contrast to Varys's execution by fire in which the viewer feels nothing at all because it's totally unearned.

Apparently Vary's was trying to poison Dany?

I didn't pick that up at all. I thought he was just telling everyone he could about Jon being 'the one'.

There was that conversation with the girl from the kitchen

Oh right, again I thought she was one of his little birds. It completely passed me by she was kitchen help.

Totally missed me too. I thought that he was just changing sides to Jon.

I’m not sure my expectations have ever been this low for the show, but I hope they manage to surprise me and pull it off.

What are we thinking might happen tonight?

I can’t see Dany making it through the episode alive. But who will kill her, Jon, Arya or will the dragon turn on her? :o

I’m excited, I might buy and consume some alcohol.

I’ve tempered my expectations, it’ll be alright. The internet meltdown is stupid.

The two battle episodes have made me go numb. I want to enjoy the last episode no matter the outcome, but I’ll lower my expectations.

The internet meltdown *is* stupid. D&D have certainly been guilty of speeding the whole thing up too much, but it's still a great show.

I can’t wait. I have loved this series, battles and all. It has been an absolute masterpiece from start to finish.

I am not keen on the bookmakers favourite to get the throne. :(

It really would be just if no one "gets the throne", but I'm not sure they'll go down that route because everything has been leading up to that...

I would say "imagine the outrage", but...:D

I mean the whole petition thing is absurd.

It's just to prove a point. I don't think most of those who signed it actually expect it to be remade! But it's a way of being vocal and I don't blame them.

apologies if this was posted already but...

Emilia :D
Varys :D
Gendry! :D
Tyrion:D

I've only just seen this, oh my god at Emilia :D But of all the people to be super pissed she's got the most right.

Well apart from being a paid actor whose opinion on the writing is kind of irrelevant, but still

A pretty solid final episode tbh. But I'm sure people will be complaining about it for years.

There was a good balance between eventfulness and catharsis.

Daenerys' death was still sad. I loved how she became NORMAL again when she was speaking with Jon. She's been my favorite since day 1. The bit with the dragon was really sad too. I loved how he got angry and melted the throne. "Ugly old thing" as Varys said.

At first I screamed "WHAT?!" at the idea of Bran being king, but then realized that he's actually a pretty good fit. And unpredictability has served this show well.

Arya becoming an EXPLORER was the hardest pill to swallow. Like, really? They couldn't have given her something else? I can't believe we never got to see her use her face power again!

Jon back at the WALL :D

The real star of course was Tyrion :disco:
