Try and keep the theme rocking on, I think...

In work. Quite a lot of people in. I think this is because everyone in Scotland wants the 2nd January off. Gaffer's bunked off though.

It's DEAD here and the four of us that are in aren't talking 'cos I think we're all knackered. There isn't even any ladsladslads footiechat™ despite all the games yesterday...

I've just spent the last 45 minutes writing a letter to the COUNCIL about a suggestion for a speed sign. I have aged approximately 50 years over Christmas it seems.

That sore throat which descended on Christmas evening floored me yesterday. It felt like a 24 hour flu thing - achy all over, full of snot and some horrid migraine which left me really sensitive to light to the extent that I couldn't even look at my phone, tablet or the TV. Quite odd. I didn't think I'd be able to sleep as I did fuck all all day, other than lay around whimpering. I did though, and today feel about 80% better.

I've not left the house since I got in Christmas Eve evening, and have got cabin fever a bit now. I need to go for a walk.

Got shitfaced last night but woke up feeling absolutely fine so doing some work in my pyjamas. Quite happy about that to be honest.

I'm doing VAT in my pyjamas.

Discovered last night that Gingerbread flavour Matchmakers are weirdly good so I'm hoping there are lots left when I pop to the supermarket later.

The maple and pecan Matchmakers are decent, as well.

Matchmakers are one of those things I always forget still exist. Like Toffifee.

Some banging techno on Radio 6 right now is making me want to get fucked up

*snorts quality street*

Ugh I’m on vacation worrying about my apartment. Someone I know well but not super close with wanted to give me his old bed and table as I had just moved and didn’t have any furniture, and he was also moving and downsizing (it costs a lot to dispose of stuff like that in japan).

Since I was going to be on a trip when he was moving, I gave him a spare key. That was all ok, he dropped off the furniture today. But instead of putting the key through the door, he put it in my mailbox downstairs which doesn’t lock or anything, so in theory anyone could take it.

I mean I don’t actually have much worth taking since I just moved it and most of it is ungainly furniture, but it’s making me itchy and I can’t really do anything about it until I get back in 3 days :/

Isn't there a distinct lack of crime in Japan anyway?

The afternoon is really dragging. People can be so fucking BORING at times, eh?

yeah, it’s true. I know I’m overreacting, and yet part of me is still going “and yet...”

If you keep manifesting it, the universe will make it come true. Think happy rainbow thoughts.

In what sense of the phrase "finish off"? Cos I could destroy it permanently with no real difficulty.

Pretty much how I approach it anyway. If it were physical files rather than digital, they'd probably be smouldering into ashes in the bin right now.

We've just had our first person leave the office saying "see you next year"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

:manson:

I've been listening to Roxy Music all afternoon, what a group.

Should have said see you next decade for the mad roffles.

One VAT job down, two to go.

Wasn't planning on getting dressed today but I need to go to the supermarket and I'm just not chavvy enough to go out in pyjamas no matter how soft and fluffy they are.

Oh go on. If there's one time of year you can get away with it, this is it.

I don't have any footwear that'll go with PJs! Can't drive in my slippers because they have dog-heads that stick up and will surely get caught in the car's pedals.

Yeah, don't do that, then. :D

Gingerbread Matchmakers reduced to 50p a box in Tesco, I bought ten boxes. Arrived at the checkout and lady asked how many there were and I replied "10, don't judge me!".

I am heading home to Ireland tomorrow and don’t come back until 4th January. I am dreading coming back to a house full of Christmas decorations, so have asked my cleaner to pop in and take them all down for us coming home. My mother keeps rabbeting on at me that it’s bad luck to take them down that early, but I am happy to take my chances.

It's not bad luck to take them down early - just leaving them up after twelfth night.

I just think I shall no doubt be on a downer and feeling a tad flat when I get back so walking in to the house looking all lovely and festive is just not going to cut it. I really am dreading January, and feel I need to get something to sink my teeth in to when I come back.

:D

They were 75p a box in Poundland before Xmas but now they're a quid again. Maybe they've stocked up at Tesco...

Are you all better now @Rita ?

Yes, thank you. It had subsided by Christmas Eve thank GOD. I have had a house full since the 23rd, as we all have Christmas here, and then New Year back home in Donegal so having a stomach bug could not have came at a worse time. Boxing Day I was also terribly sick, but that was all self inflicted so the less we say about that the better. :D
