I'm starting a new role this week which is based in this office building. Have been on a training course somewhere else today but have to venture in tomorrow, what excellent timing :D

I read about one person who went to the hospital with breathing problems three times before they even tested her (because the NY Times called to fact check the story).

I wonder how much they charge for a COVID 19 test.
 
I'm supposed to be going away next week for a few days to darkest WALES. I wonder if I should pack enough for THREE MONTHS JUST IN CASE

I’ve just had a mystery visitor begging for alms who did look suspiciously familiar but I let him in anyway, being the sweet-natured creature that I am. Of course I graciously let him watch svt.se while I scurried around gathering some tins and copper. Well imagine my horror to discover after his departure that he’d been SICK IN MY HANDBAG!
 
My office have just all been messaged not to attend work tomorrow. Someone has tested positive. No idea if we are self isolating at this point, will know more tomorrow.
 
It’s going to be fun to see the Americans try to pay $1000 for an emergency hospital admittance :eyes:

the usa has gone from a dozen cases to over 700 in no time. there is an insane deficit of testing kits. people who get tested get massive bills. most people can't afford to take time off work as they have no paid sick leave.
it's looking very grim. they're in for a rude awakening.
 
Ms Ron and I have been looking out for cheap flights/holidays though, disaster capitalisming the shit out of this

there are LOADS MORE cases in the US than 700+ for sure - they're barely testing anybody! The infection rate in the US is 4% compared to 0.5% in places like South Korea, so these official figures for numbers tested are clearly a load of horseshit which don't reflect how many people NEED TO BE tested. I imagine there'll be quite a serious outbreak there soon to rival Italy.
 
My company works with a lot of suppliers in Italy so the next few weeks are going to be a complete SHIT SHOW. YAY!

Luckily I'm off on holiday in two weeks, hopefully I can get out of Europe before the shit hits the fan here.

Where will you go?

Mrs Bev and I were trying to do a low-carbon trip around Central Europe by train, but since half of it was in Italy, we're thinking of cancelling the whole thing. But have no idea where to go instead.
 
A friend has just got back from Venice and been told to self-isolate (but she's fine). She's quite happy about it
 
Up to 65 cases in Iceland :(

They´re considering testing EVERYBODY here. :o

I'm off to Brazil, which is so far relatively virus free, just hoping the UK isn't shut down before then, as the virus is due to peak in about a fortnight.
