How long is it since we had a mod election? If people truly feel we’re such a corrupt basket of deporables I wholeheartedly invite them to step up and drain the swamp.

I think rather than have a whole election I would like to go with the earlier suggestion that Alla and I simply swap places, and he can moderate this forum with all the passion that he obviously has inside.

The truth is, I apologised as a gesture of goodwill but I simply can’t take all this seriously - from Diddy’s dramatic monologue about the sanctity of the human spirit to Kalabaliken’s turn as Moopy’s Erin Brokovich fighting for justice in the face of an oppressive regime, all I can think of is that I edited in a video of Ruth Lorenzo - Purple Rain for a laugh, and it’s snowballed from there beyond anything I can understand.

There are some underlying issues that have come out of this discussion from random corners, issues about power and justice, and I honestly just have no interest in using Moopy as anything other than a fun chat room where we can braid each other’s hair and talk about boys. When I became a mod I saw my role as ensuring we had light entertainment to keep the post count up and the forum moving, but I meant more light entertainment like X Factor 2007 NOT Sunset Beach: Terror Island

And here, you have hit the nail on the head. Despite all of this, you still do not think what you did was wrong, do you? 'A gesture of goodwill' is when you do something you don't think you should but you do it to appease someone - like someone returning a shirt they have obviously worn', and you give the refund to shut them up and get them out of the shop, when you don't really want to. Your apology is not a sincere one.

What you did wasn't really a big thing, really. It's the fact you DID it.It's sort of like an MP claiming back a Pret £1 filter coffee on expenses when they're not entitled to it. The actual act is minute. It's still wrong.

You really upset a member of this forum with your actions and in no way have you shown any remorse for that - it's all very much 'Im sorry you feel that way.' If you'd just held up your hands and apologised like you actually meant it and stop trying to deflect things this would have been dealt with and finished a while ago. You say others live for the drama. I think you love the drama. And you're the starring role.

You won, Kala. Dear lord, what a sad little life, Kala. You ruined my modship completely so you could have the modship and I hope now you can spend it on giving other posters lessons in grace and decorum, because you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on. So Kala, take your modship and get off my property.

@Kalabaliken , just admit it. What you really want to see is Suomi on his knees, begging for your and Alla's forgiveness whilst weeping to a Celine Dion song. Only then will you gift him with the honor of being "sincere".

What really should be happening is a private conversation between Alla, Suomi and other Mods about how to fix things. Not this mess of a thread where people get on their high horse and waffle on about what constitutes a "sincere" apology because they want others to see just how GOOD they are.

Now if this was an ongoing pattern with Suomi across the forum, then it's a different story. But this is the first time most of us have really seen anything about him.

like someone returning a shirt they have obviously worn', and you give the refund to shut them up and get them out of the shop, when you don't really want to

This is the peak of crime fiction.

:D Full head of hair but zero’d. Bring a wig and yer Easy Braids and I’ll bring the Advocaat :disco:

I actually thought it was nice to ask Alla what would make him feel better to see if this can be resolved. I'm sure Beverley's intentions were anything but hollow. I'd like to see Alla feel happy enough to continue with FF.
Exactly. It's ultimately down to Alla as to how and when this gets resolved, it's only sensible to ask him what he wants to happen.

I don't understand why everybody thinks I have to say what's next. I already said my opinion, that if he was really sorry he should have the decency to step down himself as a moderator after his abuse. But that would be his decision, I'm not going to put the pressure on him. Obviously that ain't happening, there is no remorse and he has been lying all across this thread, so what do you want me to say now?

And no, I'm not applying for mod, so don't panic.

If Suomi resigns, we'll have a mod election. If he doesn't, we might have one anyway.

(VOTE BIG RON)

I just had a text from Rita, who was in Saint Tropez spending the weekend and is now under coronavirus quarantine. She can't get online and is very stressed about missing this FF round. Still didn't reply.

Now THAT'S how you change the subject.

Tell her we miss her!

‘I’m not going to discuss this any further’.
