Luxembourg or Italy were the weirdest for me.Satellite link up makes most sense to me, and would end up being one of the oddest contests since Eurovision came live from Harrogate
Surely the EBU would also help the poorer/smaller countries out a little bit too. Assuming Eurovision is heavily insured as an event, they would probably have CASH TO SPARE by not doing the full shebang.
I am enjoying some of the memes coming from the Eurovision community in this crisis
Oh for heavens sake - what the ACTUAL LIVING FUCK ARE YOU ON ABOUT?Also, if things get REALLY serious, it's probably not going to be the right time to do something like this when people have other things on their mind. I get that people may want an escape but I'm not sure it's going to be appropriate. If they are sure about having the satellite link up then they could have it at any time of the year. Maybe they would be better waiting until it settles down.

Can we have a contest EACH WEEK using various national finalists?

WHO CARES? We're going to have nothing to do for the next three months! Who GIVES A SHIT if not every rule is adhered to? IT IS THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST! The most delightful form of escapism in the world! Frankly FUCK anyone who goes "oh I'm not sure if it's appropriate for ANYONE to have fun right now, MY MISERABLE NAN JUST DIED"!
The satellite link up itself also presents a number of problems - technology is great these days but having to do live link ups to a bunch of countries at exact moments is going to be prone to things falling down somewhere.
Just picking up on this bit in particular as the rest has been pretty well covered, but they’d have to set up 41 different satellite feeds for the voting ANYWAY. They’ve been doing it every year since the 90s! It’s hardly cutting edge.

You may have noticed TV programmes are still on and being filmed in most of the countries on lockdown!
And what are the delegations going to do exactly if a satellite linkup is decided? Put it this way - if she can get the cash together to rig a selection, I'm pretty sure Natalia Gordienko can get the cash to KEEP A STAGE TOGETHER FOR THREE MINUTES

We still need fucking entertainment!!Yes, news bulletins and you know, IMPORTANT stuff. Other things like serial dramas, soaps, entertaminent shows etc around Europe have stopped now. Eurovision is WAY down the list.
Yes, they have a SINGLE camera facing the announcer. Not quite the same as the EBU having to time a live performance exactly at the right moment when each country will have their own technical issues anyway. If they're going down that route then a recorded performance earlier in that day is really the only way they can make this work.
This is one for the HISTORY BOOKS. I want it to be completely ridiculous in every possible wayCheaper the BETTER!![]()

Estonia streamed through Cam4. Portugal through her Apple Watch. Fuck it, I'll take Belarus via smoke signal.

Austria by CARRIER PIGEON.I’m quite fancying Armenia via MORSE CODE![]()
Moldova to send their votes via HOMING PIGEONMontenegro to send a VHS tape with their performance.
The number of cameras set up is not AT ALL relevant to the complexity of setting up a feed, which AGAIN, they need to do at exactly the right moment for the voting anyway, and that is much more unpredictable in terms of timings than the performances.
Oh YOU'RE TIRED!!I'm saying that there's MUCH more that can go wrong with a live performance than a single camera, and we have seen from the past that issues happen. There's video feeds going wrong, sound issues, delays etc, throughout the voting. Anyway I'm tired of talking about this.
You're missing the point, we expect everything going terribly wrong!I'm saying that there's MUCH more that can go wrong with a live performance than a single camera, and we have seen from the past that issues happen.

FATIGUE is one of the symptoms. Just saying...Oh YOU'RE TIRED!!
