The world will possibly enter an economic depression rather than (just) a recession if/when we emerge out of this. I read an interesting article on this in the New York Times a few days ago.

I think a lot of things will change, including what we may normally find stocked in our supermarkets, to the entire luxury goods sector, to the entertainment industry etc.

But I'm no economist so I may well be wrong, and I tend to think (and plan for) worst case scenarios by default.

All the graphs indicate the worst downturn since the 1930s. It's going to be rough.

Immunity passports sound like the worst kind of societal tiering. If that's the case, give me the fucking virus STAT so I can start being a normal human again.

Part of me does wonder if this was the real reason why it took them so long to go to lock down. The later they left it, the less time they’d have to support people financially.
 
Oh good. Matt HanCOCK is threatening to take outdoor exercise away too. This isn't really surprise, but getting out in the country for a pedal is the main thing keeping me sane right now.

Fuck all those people hanging out on Brighton beach.
 
People sunbathing doesn't especially bother me. But any cunts meeting up with friends can FUCK OFF.

The thing is, you just know some people will meet up to sunbathe 2 meters apart, then that turns into a picnic and then all you know it's gays having proper chemsex orgies.
 
Half my street was out all day yesterday, there was a group of teenagers sat on a brick fence (on their phones of course :manson: ), couples milling about and of course my personal favourite groups of kids RUNNING AROUND touching cars, climbing on trees, etc. Also hello Grindr, half the people there are ACTIVELY looking to meet up!

It's only a matter of time until the UK gets properly locked down like Spain and Italy if they want to stop the infection rate.

THIS. Well, kind of. It isn’t about the sunbathing itself, it’s about the fact that it will be exploited and people will start doing things they shouldn’t. Because they are thick.

Also, people need to release the 2 metres thing isn’t automatic protection from the virus.

I don't know about you guys, but we've had the most GLORIOUS weather since lockdown so people are still going out despite police checks.

We're allowed to go out for a jog once a day, yet they've shown people using that as an excuse to go to the park and practice their DRAWING skills :manson:
 
The local supermarket in my town is a Coop and after going in earlier on in the week I actually felt really uncomfortable walking around to get what I need as the shop was packed. I went in again yesterday and it seems like they are now taking things seriously as I had to queue outside first and they were only letting a few people in at a time. WHY did it take the police threatening to shut them down before they took heed to the government rules? :goodgrief:

In Spain they don't allow this 'daily exercise' jolly but you can take the dog out for a short walk. That means no more than 100m from your home, the police will come and ask where you live if you have a dog with you and you'll get fined if you're not near your dwelling.
 
Gardening has been a fabulous exercise for me already. Sadly weather dependent. I don't feel the need to go out walking today. Sadly we're such a nations of FLATS these days.

I agree with an exercise near to your home rule. Most people in London should have some kind of green space within a reasonable walk from home, but the crowds I’ve seen around Richmond riverside from yesterday were quite ridiculous. If all of those people lived near there they’d have to all be multi millionaires.

Spoke to my mum yesterday and we were talking about the fact that my Dad has a massive house, empty bedrooms and big garden so it’s far easier for him. She suggested us both going round there as I could stay and set up my computer to work from there so we could all be together!

She did get it quite quickly when I explained.

To be fair if you all quarantined yourselves for 14 days before travelling, and then could get there without public transport, I don't think it's the worst idea.
 
I'm worried that the noises from Matt Hancock today will actually make the situation worse, a bit like panic buying. If people think there's a risk they'll be confined indoors soon, everyone's going to be out in force today.
 
I tell you something though- I see any cunt sunbathing on the common opposite me and I will shout the cunt down. I will go SPARE if lockdown means no exercise. One of the few things keeping me sane.

Or at least remove any location-based features so it just lets you chat and share photos/videos with randoms, without enabling any sort of real-world contact.

Frankly, I have never seen so many "joggers" in Paris. Some of them quite simply DO NOT KNOW HOW TO RUN! It's funny that the gyms are usually 80% populated by queens and now all of sudden, French straights are into urban exercise! As Vivacious told us, GAY truly does stand for Generations Ahead of Yesterday!
