I couldn't give a shit about the Queen, but if she gets through to just a few of these fucking NUMBSKULL CUNTS then it's worth it.
 
He did this two weeks ago too, but otherwise no, it’s nothing usual.
 
A lot of people on Twitter giving it "I'm not a monarchist but..." and praising her. I thought the speech was bland but it probably was necessary. A lot of BrexityGammony type people cast themselves as being rebels of some sort and need to be told that this ain't the time - she is literally the only person they'll listen to. She couldn't bang her first on the table and shout "STAY THE FUCK HOME, YA DOBBERS". She appealed to that misplaced sense of superiority by talking about national character and spirit so hopefully it'll land with some of them.

I'll be interested to see the viewing figures and how they compare with Boris's lockdown announcement.

I'm in this minority also. I know, born into privilege lived a sheltered life (at least since the war) at the taxpayer's expense etc but I've always quite liked her input and still have that "nation's magic grandma" feeling about her (wish my own was still around). It tugged at the heart strings a bit when she drew comparisons to talking over the radio to isolated kids in the 40s, and I thought it was just quite a nice optimistic message from someone who's lived long enough to have more right than most to be able to say they believe "we'll get through this" with any kind of sincerity. And I do think she means the vast majority of the country rather than the Royal We ;) She still needs something to be the figurehead of! Appealing to unity and pointing out how this time the world is co-operating instead of fighting was also quite uplifting

Thought it made quite a nice change from the endless statistics, negativity, stirring of fear, etc. Interesting that she avoided referring to it as a conflict as well.

Wouldn't dare to say any of this most places but people here seem quite tolerant even in disagreement :)

Not keen on the chap but I'll settle for the corridor for the sake of his loved ones (and the mental health of my folks who are feeling mortal enough already) and to give him a bit of motivation to FUND THE DAMN THING MORE

My workpal who had it was told she was looking at hospital if her fever didn't break on Day 8 - it broke on day 9.

Oh, no-one wants him to die. Let's be clear on that. But he did boast of still shaking hands with people who had tested positive and was very weak in his initial briefings. He needs to get better and then tell the nation that he was wrong, this is deep shit and we need to behave ourselves to get through this.
 
they say the 7th day is critical don't they? If you're still getting worse at that point you might well be DONE FOR

I've developed quite a sore throat over this evening - hopefully it'll disappear overnight, but I hate how paranoid things like this make me now :unsure:
