In France we've been counting hospital death (daily figures), care home deaths (these numbers come every 3-4 days) but not people dying at home (upskirt). So I imagine there will be another more accurate estimate of total deaths by the end of the pandemic.

I do however believe China's numbers are COMPLETE HORSESHIT.
 
China's numbers are indeed horseshit but so are ours, massaged to within an millimetre of credibility to keep any daily report from going over the psychological 1000 barrier.

Nope - they only report hospital death in the daily figures because they know that reporting a four-figure number would generate a different level of reaction (i.e. panic and anxiety).

The thing that stresses me the most is that I have to lie to my parents about not going out at all, because they're paranoid and had my mother in tears on the phone very worried about me. I tried buying food online, but they bring you half of the things, and I need my food, so I go to the supermarket every 10-11 days, with gloves, mask and all the precautions. There is no 0 risk, but I'm very careful about it.
 
The government furlough scheme has been extended until the end of June, which I think signifies that they do not expect the lockdown to end before then.
 
Looks like even Mr Abe might give everyone in Japan 100,000 yen, that’ll surely help me out. It includes foreign residents too!

Not a done deal yet though

Are they gonna keep it at the same level of lockdown as before? Or are they gonna loosen it a bit so that it mirrors the lockdowns elsewhere in Europe - ie at the very least being allowed out for exercise?

Don't know yet, I think we'll have an official announcement this Sunday.
 
Tesco was absolute CARNAGE. Too many in, and no one cared about distancing or the one way system. Just "I can't wait 2 seconds for you to jump out of the way, I want a tin of beans NOW". Kind of worried now about having gone, and hope I didn't bring anything more than shopping home to my parents :(

It's just like when you pass a speed camera and realise you were going a bit over the limit, and spend the next 14 days praying not to have any consequences.

I think this is a misnomer - the rulebook is out the window at the moment with regards to what spending on what and why. To write the cause off until the next election is a mug's game - it's never been more politically palatable for the Tories to stump up the money actually fucking needed for the NHS.

We just have to hope that they can put aside their ideological urge to obliterate all public services for just a second because they realise how valuable supporting the NHS is in terms of holding onto power.

I know they really aren’t set out to work like that but that supermarkets really are horrific. Even if you do adhere to the distance and one way system someone inevitably creeps up behind you and breathes on you :gross:
 
People seriously find their inner COP in supermarkets at the moment as well. Pause for a second and someone is on you and heaven help you if you take one step backwards whilst deciding which delicious breakfast cereal to pop in yr basket.
 
Actually, it's always people with trolleys who are huffy and angsty. Maybe it's a weird type of road rage...

This is exactly how I feel. Mr rocketstail is in one of the highest risks groups, so I've only gone shopping twice in the last few weeks. Thankfully most people in have been fine, but I've had to TUT and EYEROLL at a few people who just seem oblivious to anyone around them.
 
My neighbour got me some fresh yeast, knowing that it's hard to find now and I cook a lot. So I made a mascarpone brioche for them last night. This morning she said she left something for me at the door. I knew out of boredom she was making masks for her family and more, but I wasn't expecting this...I'm now the owner of a Spiderman mask :D:manson::square::shy:

Numbers seem to be dropping greatly in Spain @Alla so hopefully adults will be able to go out for walks in the next restriction cut.
 
It does sound a tad ridiculous though as surely parents will be accompanying said children.
