I work very near to Cov, and can confirm that it's a shithole.Coventry.
It's hard to really know when you haven't actually lived there but I did not enjoy my three days beyond about one street in the centre.
Thing with Bradford is you look up and there are some nice buildings but just grim otherwise

I lived in Didsbury for a few years and never had any issues with crime, although I did have to ask my housemate to stop adding me into local fb groups because the CURTAIN TWITCHING culture was real.
"my SMART DOORBELL caught a SHADY FIGURE passing by at 4am. Oscar, Beatrice and I have been in the PANIC ROOM ever SINCE. Just sharing in case there have been any incidents."

DONCASTER/ROTHERHAM/BARNSLEY basically any ex industrial/coal Yorkshire town. All full of inbreds and GRIM.

Pics please.Coming from Yorkshire I have a soft spot for some places like Barnsley and Huddersfield, which although complete pits have some level of charm.
The two most hopeless places I’ve visited in the uk are probably Bowling in Scotland, and Barrow in Furness.

I lived in Huddersfield for a year, I actually thought it was quite a nice town.Coming from Yorkshire I have a soft spot for some places like Barnsley and Huddersfield, which although complete pits have some level of charm.

That's the one thing the town is PROUD OF. The fact someone DIED OF SMALLPOX THEREI remember going there as a child and seeing Pochahontas' grave(?)

I've been offered an interview in Hemel Hempstead which I said I wasn't sure about because it's a bit out of the way from London although the school looks nice. The recruiter insists that the town itself is very nice and well connected but I'm not sure I trust her.

IlfordOoh. While we're here.
Recommended places to live and/or work in London?
They keep asking me for specifics and I'm just not sure.
