Well, that and all the EXTRA PEOPLE DYING now because PROTECTING THE NHS means they don't want to trouble GPs or hospitalsGoes to show how much people abuse the system in normal times![]()
I was told to go to A&E once for... A grazed knee.

By WHOM? Mind you, ants and snails can easily burrow into that sort of thing and the next thing you know, they’re chopping your leg off at the fancy
In my experience, if you phone 111 invariably you're instructed to go to A&E.

But it turned out it was because I'd used plasters instead of a bandage so it wasnt infected, just sweating
I was indeed told by 111 to IMMEDIATELY go to A&E regarding something which was wrong last year, which I thought was ridiculous. So I didn’t. Not dead yet, so there you go
It would seem to me that the issue is the 111 checklist and instructions, rather than people turning up willy nilly of their own accord
Someone told me once that the big shopping centre in East Kilbride was originally multiple precincts and streets that got covered over and merged, and I've never looked into the veracity of that but I've always loved/been horrified by that idea.
Also, why would ANYONE go to A&E unless they really had to (including in normal circumstances)? Waiting for hours and hours is hardly a riot of fun and laughs and it’s not exactly a day out at the zoo (well, then again...) and their settees leave MUCH to be desired!
Ooh the bungalow next door is for sale. I'm gonna tell my parents. Although what would be worse: my parents living there or some OLD CUNTS who will probably spend all their time in the garden DRONING ON and MOANING that the FENCES are broken and have some YAPPY SMALL DOG and a GREAT INTEREST IN NOISY DIY. DECISIONS DECISIONS

You'd be surprised. I see so many patients that will say something ridiculous like 'I had a slight twitch in my eye once that lasted 1 second and I went to a&e for it'.
It drives me mad!! People just self present to a&e for the most ridiculous things.
Admittedly that IS quite ridiculous. I hate hospitals anyway so I really wouldn’t go to one if I didn’t absolutely have to. However, a friend of mine loves all the attention if he’s admitted and regards it as some sort of HOTEL experience
Or the property could for rent and you end up with lovely tenants![]()
Where as us lot located in the WAR TORN HOSPITALS have to GO WITH THE FLOW, and tell Brenda that it’s a good idea to come in considering her heads fallen off.Yeah, I think the call handlers are just following a script, essentially. And if in any doubt, 'go to A&E' covers them in the event of legal action.

I hate hospitals. They just remind you of your delicate position on this mortal coil, and there's always some brat running around or pestering their mum to let them go on CANDY CRUSH even though her leg is falling off and she has third degree burns.
All this and also the SMELL

Hope it catches fire.My NEIGHBOUR is boasting about how she’s re-using her BREXIT BUNTING for tomorrow. WITCH!
“Oh we dropped our BBQ on your front lawn! Oh what a shame the hose pipes don’t work!”Hope it catches fire.
“Sorry we can’t rescue your kids, social distancing and all that.”“Oh we dropped our BBQ on your front lawn! Oh what a shame the hose pipes don’t work!”

The supermarket has been nightmarish tonight. I forgot how shit people are.
It should be socially acceptable to tell someone they’re an awful mother, which is why little FREYOH is such an insufferable cunt.
Surely they are only going to get WORSE, in terms of queueing to get in at least. More people are clearly heading out, but I don't see the supermarkets letting any more people in them.

This is what worries me. Right now, I can pop into a Tesco in town (I have a choice of 4) and there will be hardly anyone there: I've never had to wait any more than 3 or 4 minutes and mostly walk straight in. Once people start to get moving, that situation will get difficult.
