Thursday seems a little on edge and not quite on the same planet

A precinct for me implies some idea of being in the middle of everything yet very contained. And obviously pedestrian only, although perhaps ringed by car parks.

A retail park is almost the complete opposite.

Goes to show how much people abuse the system in normal times :o
Well, that and all the EXTRA PEOPLE DYING now because PROTECTING THE NHS means they don't want to trouble GPs or hospitals

Also, why would ANYONE go to A&E unless they really had to (including in normal circumstances)? Waiting for hours and hours is hardly a riot of fun and laughs and it’s not exactly a day out at the zoo (well, then again...) and their settees leave MUCH to be desired!

In my experience, if you phone 111 invariably you're instructed to go to A&E.

I was indeed told by 111 to IMMEDIATELY go to A&E regarding something which was wrong last year, which I thought was ridiculous. So I didn’t. Not dead yet, so there you go

It would seem to me that the issue is the 111 checklist and instructions, rather than people turning up willy nilly of their own accord on the flimsiest of pretexts

:D By WHOM? Mind you, ants and snails can easily burrow into that sort of thing and the next thing you know, they’re chopping your leg off at the fancy :(

It was 111. It had been a week, it hadn't healed and it was LEAKING :zombie: But it turned out it was because I'd used plasters instead of a bandage so it wasnt infected, just sweating :D

Yeah, I think the call handlers are just following a script, essentially. And if in any doubt, 'go to A&E' covers them in the event of legal action.

Someone told me once that the big shopping centre in East Kilbride was originally multiple precincts and streets that got covered over and merged, and I've never looked into the veracity of that but I've always loved/been horrified by that idea.

The original Plaza certainly had the air of that, given the width of it and the layout - when they added the Olympia, the walkways were much more narrow.

Ooh the bungalow next door is for sale. I'm gonna tell my parents. Although what would be worse: my parents living there or some OLD CUNTS who will probably spend all their time in the garden DRONING ON and MOANING that the FENCES are broken and have some YAPPY SMALL DOG and a GREAT INTEREST IN NOISY DIY. DECISIONS DECISIONS

You'd be surprised. I see so many patients that will say something ridiculous like 'I had a slight twitch in my eye once that lasted 1 second and I went to a&e for it'.
It drives me mad!! People just self present to a&e for the most ridiculous things.

Or the property could for rent and you end up with lovely tenants :)

:D Admittedly that IS quite ridiculous. I hate hospitals anyway so I really wouldn’t go to one if I didn’t absolutely have to. However, a friend of mine loves all the attention if he’s admitted and regards it as some sort of HOTEL experience :side-eye:

Oh darling even the tenants in KEN'S OLD HOUSE are lovely! Even if they are often MUSLAMIC or quelle horreur! the most recent lot are as BLACK AS YOUR HAT. "Where are you from, ORIGINALLY?" I heard some of the D**LY M**L BRIGADE asking them just after they moved in. Since when I haven't seen them again and NO WONDER.

Where as us lot located in the WAR TORN HOSPITALS have to GO WITH THE FLOW, and tell Brenda that it’s a good idea to come in considering her heads fallen off.

A friend? :eyes:

I’d spend more nights in my local hospital, but the tripadvisor rating is only 2/5 :(

I hate hospitals. They just remind you of your delicate position on this mortal coil, and there's always some brat running around or pestering their mum to let them go on CANDY CRUSH even though her leg is falling off and she has third degree burns.

:D All this and also the SMELL

Don’t worry it’ll be LIVE STREAMED :disco: We can then rewatch it in 7 years, followed by a drunk rewatch of the Kings Cross Fire.

The supermarket has been nightmarish tonight. I forgot how shit people are.

It should be socially acceptable to tell someone they’re an awful mother, which is why little FREYOH is such an insufferable cunt.

Surely they are only going to get WORSE, in terms of queueing to get in at least. More people are clearly heading out, but I don't see the supermarkets letting any more people in them.

This is what worries me. Right now, I can pop into a Tesco in town (I have a choice of 4) and there will be hardly anyone there: I've never had to wait any more than 3 or 4 minutes and mostly walk straight in. Once people start to get moving, that situation will get difficult.

The supermarket in town is hideous, girls gormlessly walking around, stopping randomly in the middle of a tiny aisle. Went to my local on Tuesday, however, and it was BLISS!

I'm heading out to the supermarket now - hopefully it's late enough to be okay

In some supermarkets I've noticed that they could put more staff on checkouts while still observing social distancing. Fair enough that they haven't so far, but it’s about the only thing I can see making much difference in terms of helping the queues.

But for most of the smaller Tesco Metro type stores, they tend to rely more heavily on self checkouts which are all running at full social distancing capacity anyway.

Bearing in mind the number of cunts out there, I wouldn't be surprised if we get to see more trouble kicking off.

We went up the Lidl after Asda and the queue stretched to the back of the shop. When I eventually got to the front, I discovered they only had two people on checkouts. I mean, for fuck's sake.

Also people have now been outside clapping for TWENTY-FIVE minutes. I enjoy it and all, but if they really wanted to do their bit they could have nipped down the hospital and fellated a doctor in the time they've been out there.

Our little Tesco (which isn't little but is smaller than big Tesco) have more checkouts open but only every other one and the self-checkouts are cordoned off. Before these times they'd only have one or two checkouts open for trollies and you were expected to use the self-checkouts if possible. Asda also have every other checkout open but their self-checkouts are still open too.
