Moopy Dance Anthem Rate 2020 - Nominations close Saturday 23rd May

I've decided to get the ball rolling again, so I thought I'd chuck in 10 of my own choices. These are all fairly well-liked songs, so I figure I'm opening up spots on other people's lists

I've gone for:

Planet Perfecto - Bullet In The Gun
Matt Darey's Mash Up feat. Marcella Woods - Beautiful
Swedish House Mafia - Don't You Worry Child
Chicane ft. Tom Jones - Stoned In Love
Riva ft. Dannii Minogue - Who Do You Love Now
Plummet - Damaged (Antillas Radio Mix)
Gloworm - Carry Me Home
Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes
Sash! Ft. La Trec - Stay
Roger Sanchez - Another Chance
Strong choices. Remarkably that only frees up two on mine.

Radiohead was me. It's a dance song and it's a good dance song. No, it isn't very in keeping with the rest of the nominations but vote it out in the semi finals if you don't like it.

"Idioteque" is a brilliant recording and make no mistake.

Actually, we should do Radiohead in a sync-listen.

Oh I listened to it and it's interpretive dance AT BEST! But whatever floats your boat.

Radiohead can make a banger when they want to, they're just too bloody awkward so they do it in 5/4 time ("15 Step"), slow it down to a crawl ("Tinker Tailor etc") or fill it with weird ass dub effects ("Ful Stop").

As I always say, you can dance to anything, technically speaking :disco:

*squeezes into peek-a-boo leotard in time for the chorus*

I reserve my right to fire shots at Radiohead up on their pedestal.

As someone who has coughed up for their work at every stage of their career and therefore helped to build that pedestal, I'll fight ye!

(but not here...let's not thread-hijack)

I’ve got 25 songs off the top of my head and I have probably missed loads of my favourites. Winging its way to you now @ButterTart.

If we do a drunk semi final listening party, it's going to be about nine hours long. Not that I'm saying that would be a deal breaker.

Oh there'll be a few semi-finals. Ag did four last time I think. I need to consult the Moopy hive mind for how it should work, because I think there'd be interest in it.

That's 2 from mine gone, with 1 more in there given a brief consideration too.

I did think Carry Me Home would be in yours - I've only just discovered the extended Will's Procrastinatin' Mix with extra verse, which takes it to the next level of Bible bashing banger (it's terrible and yet anything that keeps this song going longer can do no wrong frankly).

La Trec really did have one of the most beautiful voices and yet other material is harder to come by than an image with both her eyes looking in the same direction. I always thought she looked like the woman in Ally McBeal who went crazy for a decade.

I felt like I was legally obliged to nominate Gloworm after it hospitalised me the first time round. I just did a Google search for La Trec, and it turns out that's not even her real name.

Apologies for not voting yet. I'm seeing what appears before so I can really MAKE THE MOST of my nominations.

Like surely SOMEONE is going to go for De'Lacy - Hideaway and Camisra - Let Me Show You before I get there.

My current list is solid gold, but I know there are about 500 songs I'd happily nominate.

Now wrangling with myself over whether White Town, Junior Senior and Ace of Base count as dance or not.

Providing youtube links for our host has exhausted me. Are we allowed to post our playlists or leaving it relatively anonymous? Anyway, I need a coffee.
