I didn't check coronavirus numbers for quite a few days, but I just did and OMG Russia and Brazil out of nowhere into the top 5 with more cases :shock:
 
It's almost like the countries that are putting profit before people are getting infected more than countries that went heavy on the lockdown from minute one and prioritised the well-being of their population.

WHO COULD HAVE THOUGHT EH.

I’m going back to work from Wednesday. Glad to be going out but still feel a bit :/
The numbers are all low but they don’t really test people much.

I don’t know what I want really, just my money and friends back.
 
When will Nicola Sturgeon announce the road map out of lockdown for SCOTLAND? I don’t really think their is a NEED for one personally but I heard she is announcing one this week. An announcement a few days before she is thinking of lifting anything would more than suffice for me.
 
I'm totally into wearing my mask. However, I noticed fewer and fewer people wearing them this weekend, even in close proximity to one another. These girls really want that second wave.

Yes, I do wonder how different it will look to the UK’s answer to this. I suspect she will tell us no to schools before August?
 
Thank good I had that hook up on New Years Day, as otherwise 2020 is looking like an entirely SEXLESS year.

She's going to announce it on Thursday but there will be no dates

That's easily the busiest I've seen Sauchiehall Street at lunchtime today. Sun's out, scum's out - jakies, junkies and general miscreants now joined by dickheads on bikes and unemployed neds. Great.

Sweden now has highest number of deaths per million based on average last 7 days or something. But still most countries will catch up once they’re properly out of lockdown.

Honestly I live in town and while there been varying amounts of people, 99% of people seem to be social distancing.
 
So relieved to hear that brave Furniture Village will be reopening more stores. Thank goodness we’ll be able to get our hands on those de luxe must-have home essentials! :disco:

Oh but it’s the wonderful IN TOWN EXPERIENCE. The shops might be closed but everyone loves a browse and getting just that little bit closer to the lovely things they’ll be able to buy when those disgusting selfish people have stopped dying. I don’t know about you but the mere sight of a Marie Curie or Cash Converters has me WILD WITH ANTICIPATION! :disco:

Oh they’ve told us this week we will be working from home until “at least” September but the feeling is it will be until the end of the year. Crazy to think.
 
We're still trying to get as many people out of the office as possible, mainly because all the people who were told to isolate for 12 weeks are due back shortly and it seems a few of them are already issuing demands (and I mean "demands", I'm not using biased language) about how they want their working environment to appear i.e. overheard on a phonecall between managers "we can't start giving people their own fucking lift". (:disco:)

Also, my work issued me with some facemasks yesterday - they're giving them to everyone who uses public transport.
 
It's a classic bugbear, now essentially amplified to weapons-level prickishness. It's one thing to expect someone with no children to just accept that their summer holiday won't be in the summer and you'll be lucky to get anything at Christmas because kids eh? but saying "you first because fewer people care if you die" is a whole other level.

Some people on a different team have been given the option of working from home. We’re doing the exact same job but we’ve not been given that option. Some of those working from home live a short walk away, whereas I have to get the train.

Luckily the staff survey was just opened so I’ve told district that they want me to die and they’ve treated my physical and mental health with absolute contempt throughout this period. I’ve also told them they’re paying me fuck all and the below-inflation rise we’re getting has genuinely offended me.

I know how much they panic when they get shit survey results because I’m on the district committee for wellbeing, and I know that my response has been one of the more restrained ones. Looking forward to the next conference call.

Oh, our lot just ditched the annual mental health awareness week survey. The union went ahead and did theirs. Names have been named.

Is it just people who live alone or just people without childcare issues? Otherwise that makes no sense.

Although I was conscious of some of our company’s furlough decisions as it was just about half of our workforce. It made no sense why people who were single parents with kids to homeschool weren’t furloughed and some single people were. Just for a productivity perspective and their mental health.

I don't think we have any married/life-partnered people who don't have kids on the team, so it's kind of a moot distinction.

I believe the other justification is if we don't have partners who are also potentially going into office environments/public transport/shops etc we have less chance of contracting and spreading it around just by virtue of the fact that nobody touches us. :(
 
Obviously we've had to make plans to open on the 1st June but just with nursery, reception, Year 1 and Year 6. They've tried really hard to organise it so that we stay in 'bubbles' but I just don't know how to be feel when the British Medical Association are saying it shouldn't be happening. I also have to get three trains to work so I'm just going physically in for 2 of the 5 days ,but even that is daunting. I need facemasks now.
 
and really my main worry is passing anything onto my partner, who has been told that they're working from home until the end of the year.
 
Oh. Well my mad flat mate looks to be going back to her office in a few weeks, but she is actually able to walk there. No word on our side as we are all working from home, although to walk for me it’s just under 2 hours. It just makes most sense to phase it in with the people with no childcare issues who can get to the office with minimal risk.
