Lady Gaga - The Chromatica Era (2 Viewers)

Rain on Me has grown a lot and feels right at home on Chromatica. I can see why when picked as a highlight people's expectations are lowered, but it really comes to life in that line up.

If anything, Stupid Love feels like more of a misfit here.

oh no :( i was patiently waiting for Madge to reduce Babylon but it seems like they're friends now.
 
I think whoever said it’s much better as a complete album than as individual tracks hit the nail on the head.

Alice, Free Woman, Replay and Babylon are highlights for me but I’m not yet at the stage where I have an urge to put them on in their own right. Maybe the lack of hooky moments has something to do with it.

As a whole listening experience though, it’s bloody euphoric from start to finish.

I’m hoping Alice gets a 90s house remix in the vein of the stupid love warehouse mix.
 
Bizarrely (or not) this is already longer than most of her album threads. Quite a way yet to overtake the Artpop topic which seemed to end once the album actually came out :D
 
By the way is it confirmed that they’ve somehow “changed” Babylon?

I interpreted it as being some kind of remix that had leaked in part prior to the album rather than an original demo that was then reworked.

Regardless, the album version needs a last chorus at the end. That’s the only instance where I’ve felt cheated by the song’s length.

There's two versions. We might get the Clown Labs version too at some point.

I’ve had a full listen on my walk today and the standouts are Replay and Sour Candy. Everything else is fine to good but it’s all very same-y, I could have done with one more ballad to break the same 4 words over similar beats songs.
 
I now really love Fun Tonight. It's an excellent Ally Maine song from the difficult second album. The references to Paparazzi and The Fame should be awful but are actually *chef's kiss*. And her VOCAL! :disco: she came through!
 
I've heard so many people saying they think this album is samey... I really don't hear it. It sounds very dance-pop throughout, but each song sounds distinct and obviously 'its own' to me. And a ballad would be a DREADFUL idea on this album. It would ruin the mood completely.

I agree, I randomly listened to a few songs and was bored, but when I put the album on for my walk yesterday I was amazed how amazing it sounded and how well it all works in context. This might be the first Gaga album I'll go back to since BTW.

The whole thing is growing on me today! Enigma is creeping up on me and 1000 Doves sounds better than it did at first. 911 is so good!

The Born This Way figures? They're insane. :D Like you said, pretty sure it was being sold for a dollar at one point.

Also UK saturday figures for Chromatica are 35.6K :o

Obviously she'll be very front loaded, but she should clear 50-60K no problem.
