For me, Sour Candy is one of the more basic moments of the album, but I love Gaga's contributions. That Count Dragula voice always slays me.

Does Jark not like Sour Candy..? I HADN’T NOTICED HIM MENTION IT :D

Sour Candy sounds more like a BlackPink song than a Gaga song to me, but I’m not against it as a single.

I would prefer 911 then Free Woman, then Babylon or Sine as the gay interest-only fifth single. What a singles run that would be :disco:

I mean, I don't skip it. It's fine and has enjoyable moments. But for it to be the third single would be absurd - at this stage in her career it's simply TOO basic and TOO blatant an artless, label-mandated for-the-streams collab to do her any real good. It feels reductive.
 
And what other song on the album is apparently the avant garde masterpiece? The whole album is basic. Her ballads is where her artistry shines the most for me and she hasn't really included any.
 
I can see why a music video would be a condition of Sour Candy being the third single. Its disproportionate popularity right now is quite plainly thanks to the BLACKPINK fans and they’ll need something new to keep their interest up.

I do think it’s one of the weakest songs on the album for already mentioned. It doesn’t have much structure, no real chorus, and it sounds like a BLACKPINK song. That is until Gaga barges in like Aunt Sassy gatecrashing the kids’ party in Room and Bored.

Bad Romance, Dance In The Dark, Heavy Metal Lover, Do What U Want, Aura and Artpop are just as interesting "artistically" speaking as Shallow, Million Reasons and Always Remember Us This Way.

911 with Chromatica II as the video intro is the obvious choice. Has strong streams and will sound great on the radio.

I'll settle for what Sandra (clearly a key inspiration for Gags :disco:) did with her last album where she reissued it with every track turned into an old school extended version.
 
On the single, I'd Sour Candy has the best commercial chance given how rabid the K-Pop huns are. They make the Little Monsters circa 2011 look SANE.

I'm talking about THIS album boo. The whole thing is pretty basic from start to finish. Singling "Sour Candy" out as some kind of 'low point' is just silly.
 
It was inevitable, but I still feel quite sad. It is going to be my first time seeing her live as well.

Third week? Almost no-drop off? Amazing!

I'm still completely in love and newly obsessed with Stupid Love - I think it's basically top-tier Gaga for me. Just a great, straightforward, feel-good BANGER that does the job time after time. The melodies are so dreamy, especially the bridge.

Oh I’ve got cheap seats for this one too. :( it was supposed to be Gaga then Mariah the next day. Shattering my gay dreams.
 
I guess that all those avant-garde queens who moved on from the album three weeks ago not so numerous after all :disco:
 
I went for a run yesterday and at some point Babylon came on. I ended up just putting it on repeat for the remainder of the run as the STRUT IT OUT, WALK A MILE hook is just perfect.
 
Not a fan of Sour Candy myself, but it does seem to make the most commercial sense for sure.
