Jessie Ware - What's Your Pleasure?

I was traumatised by Imagine It Was Us being the first song on my "chillout" playlist (ie. when me and my ex used to get high as kites) for a number of years, so I never returned to it, despite it being THAT BOP.

To be honest I’ve enjoyed all of her albums, there was an alarming commitment to the slow shift of direction on Glasshouse but there are still some truly beautiful moments.

I loved the Cyril Hahn remix of Tough Love and Midnight Caller, but didn't keep anything else from the sophomore era. The Devotion era was just sublime.

Maybe I need a re-listen to the second album, Tough Love in both its forms is obviously one of her greatest achievements.

It pains me that horrid Ed Sheeran track is by far her biggest song on Spotify.
 
Say You Love Me is quite lovely, but I can definitely do without dealing with the sort of people* who hold it (and Wildest Moments) up over all the other total 11s in her back cat.

As far as SAP goes I'm quite PARTIAL to You & I (Forever) - and the Shura remix totally turns Say You Love Me into a banger :disco:
 
OMG Wildest Moments is IMMENSE! I’ve been waiting for YEARS for it to get a resurgence through a film or TV show.

It feels like a song that should be part of the very fabric of our society. It’s very This Woman’s Work in MANY WAYS.
 
Taking In Water is my favourite pre-What's Your Pleasure Jessie track, although like most people I lost interest around the time she released that Ed Sheeran song
 
#3 in the Monday mids - 5.3k so far. Glasshouse debuted #8 with almost 9k.
 
I think/hope this will stick around a bit longer than her past two albums.
I think it's gonna get really good word-of-mouth, and it has big-time straight appeal too. I don't think it's one that's going to go down in history as a doomed gay classic. It really feels like a creative rebirth for her.

It's the gayest album of the year! :D

I don't think it will stick around or see any real crossover success but let's be real she doesn't need it or seem motivated by it and she can definitely tour/do festivals and dine out on that.
 
I think it slinks in pretty easily as the sophisticated elder sibling to what Dua Lipa and The Weeknd have been doing recently, and their appeal wasn't limited to gay men only.

Yes...I ordered her album from her site. On Thursday I got the information that I won the competition and she will call me on Saturday.....So she called me.... I was so nervous and happy. They sent me a video from the short conversation as well. I had a screenshot photo....but don't know how to put it here:( so I am changing my avatar photo a little bit...there is a screenshot from the conversation ....you can see Jessie and a little bit of me lol

Yeah until Overtime I'd kinda pushed her to the side of my affections a little. The last two years leading up to this point have drawn me right back in.
