Lady Gaga - The Chromatica Era

well, that clears it up - gave her an EXPENSIVE JACKET to AVOID A SELFIE :disco:

Take it with a pinch of salt, but rumours are floating around on Twitter and Gaga fan forums that 4 more videos/singles are underway:

Sour Candy (obviously)
Free Woman
Fun Tonight
Babylon :disco:

I read that those were the videos ORIGINALLY planned - I'd guess at least one of those is now gonna be OUT, with 911 IN.

And no way are we getting 6 videos total. Babylon is mostly shot already apparentlly.

I need the Babylon video to be an intergalactic ballroom extravaganza giving us Black Extraterrestrial Trans Lives Matter realness :disco:

I would LOVE an Enigma video too...it feels a little incorrect for it to be left as an album track, even if it's not a single proper. Even a simple black and white studio shot thing would WORK.

Actually fuck it, just go full B'Day and make a video for EVERY SONG. Sine From Above also feels INCORRECT as album track only.

Holding well across the board with minimal promotion/not a single performance so far:

US: 1-2-2
UK: 1-1-2
Australia: 1-1-4
Canada: 1-1-1
France: 1-3-8
Italy: 1-2-4
Ireland: 1-1-5
Scotland: 1-3-2

The album has moved an estimated 645.000 units worldwide in its first two weeks.

Sales are dans les toilettes maintenant, but I suppose we'll take those victories. I'm going to need some performances soon though. Everyone else is doing it, she can't keep pushing because it's "not the right moment" because the world is burning and there'll probably never be a right moment again. So sing for me, queen!

I'm slightly afraid to say this out loud, but... *whispers*

I really like Alice now.

Suedey would be proud.

Still bottom third of album MIND YOU, and could use a stronger chorus, but I do bop.

For me, Sour Candy is one of the more basic moments of the album, but I love Gaga's contributions. That Count Dragula voice always slays me.

Anyway updated rate:

10 Chromatica I
10 Alice
10 Stupid Love
10 Rain On Me
10 Free Woman / 10 Free Woman Demo
10 Fun Tonight
10 Chromatica II
09 911
08 Sour Candy
06 Plastic Doll
10 Enigma
10 Chromatica III
10 Sine from Above
08 1000 Doves
16 Babylon
---
10 Love Me Right
09 1000 Doves Work Tape

You forgot to rate the best one. :argh:

She did a Chromatica themed Club Quarantine set for Paper Mag - you can see it here

I think roughly the first hour is her. No "performance" but she's PRESENT and DANCING

also a new Purple Disco Machine remix of Rain On Me was premiered :disco: also an extended Free Woman, and a Ralphi Rosario remix of Alice was mentioned.

BOY
come see me CROY
(a-woo-hoo!)

:disco:

I don't wanna burn this album out so on Wednesday I didn't listen to any Gaga at all for the first time in at least a month. Then yesterday I played Chromatica while out in the blazing sun and probably had my most enjoyable experience with it to date :disco: my new earphones might've helped. This is truly a rock-solid pop album. BUILT TO LAST.

Fave to least, June 26th edition:

Free Woman
Stupid Woman
Rain On Me
Chromatica II / 911
Replay
Babylon
Enigma
Plastic Doll
Fun Tonight
Alice
Sour Candy
Sine From Above
1000 Doves

And even the bottom 3 are PRETTY GOOD!

I've also been spinning the SHIT out of Born This Way lately - did a sync listen happen already? If not it's surely essential?

If I could, I'd neg rep this for including the Scottish chart.

Finally got around to listening to this. Gave it two playthroughs and very solid. Nothing jumped out and said classic but I was never bored or looking to skip anything. Will give it some more listens this weekend.

My faves of the album, if anyone cares

Free Woman
Enigma
Babylon

basically I’m a sucker for anything with an italo piano hook. She went hard on the early 90s for this one, didn’t she?

Good choices - are you back full time!?!? :o
