2020 USA Presidential Elections

Four more years?

Would be interested to see how many of those predicting a Tr*mp re-election back in April have changed their mind.

Yeah, I'm sure he can. Would you vote the same though?

It certainly feels like Biden’s to loose at the minute, but god knows what tricks Trump has up his sleeve.

Looking at these polls, Biden’s 1% ahead of Trump in Texas, 2% behind in Arkansas, 3% behind in Utah and Alaska and 3% ahead in Georgia, which are all solid Republican states (I think?), so would be pretty big if he did manage to win one or two.

I have always said that he would win again. His behaviour during the pandemic which is also during an election cycle looks like it may be decisive. He was behind in TEXAS in a recent poll, which is really crazy. Its hard to say he won't, but it's looking less likely.

Yes I saw the 3% in Alaska which is nuts.

The thing is Biden only needs to flip the three rust belt states that went for Trump in 2016 and he wins.

I'm not sure he has any. Worse for him, so many former allies and even Republicans have turned on him. The novelty of Trump in 2016 and the terrible candidate that was Clinton isn't a feature this time.

I am convinced if he loses he will contest the results and tie it all up in courts.

Well if the polls end up being correct (:eyes:), I don’t see any way in which he can claim fraud if he really does lose by such a margin.

I don’t know, it’s still a few months before the elections, things can flip over pretty quickly. Every single poll predicted a comfortable win for Hillary, so I’m not sure I trust that. Still going for a narrow Trump win.

This really is just turning in to house of cards

I too think we will still win. It feels like Biden has benefitted from being invisible.

The Lincoln Project have done an incredible job of undermining him and his regime in the most effective, viral way. They're Republicans, and the Democrats haven't been able to come close to what they're doing.

I'm still AGOG that one of them is married to Kellyanne Conway though :D:bruised:

I looked her up lately and she seemed to still be a fervent supporter

I like that Biden just sat back and let Trump dig his own grave. I don't give a shit about a "good public speaker" anymore. I just want someone GOOD who thinks with his head.

So Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has cancer for the third time, and is apparently responding well to the treatment.

I know she's an iconic queen and political icon, but for fucks sake - when your judgement goes towards forming decisions that affect literally MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of people - it's a bit selfish of her not to have safely retired during Obama's second term IN MY OPINION.

But isn't the tradition to be in the Supreme Court literally until you drop dead? Sandra Day O'Connor was an exception because she THOUGHT she was dying but actually didn't

Oh is that true? I know a judge retired during Obama's time so I just assumed you handed in your notice when the time felt right :D

Apologies to Justice RBG if I misunderstood American politics :D

I'm getting very excited at the prospect of ELECTION NIGHT though. Especially seeing as it's been a long LONG time since I watched one with a result I wanted.
If it’s at all close (and perhaps in any case) COVID-19 and postal voting could delay any result.

Having looked it up on WIKIPEDIA I exaggerated there. It's more of a mix of retiring and dying. There are apparently three retired justices still alive!

The last time a sitting Justice died, it was less than 12 months before a general election, and so the Republican Senate refused to consider Obama's nominated replacement.

If RGB were to die this year, get ready for record-breaking levels of hypocrisy.

Oh, so that's where all the "Mitch McConnell rigged the Supreme Court" discourse comes from. I fully expect a ridiculous dial back to be forthcoming if RBG does cark it.

Mitch McConnell went on record and basically said if RBG's seat becomes available before the election he'll 'fill it'. :argh:

Well he seems like the perfect calm, cool and collected candidate for President. :eyes:

Can someone add Kanye to the poll please :eyes:

I am just catching up to the "WE ALMOST ABORTED NORTH" fiasco. I know he has mental illness, but watching the video, it does come across as bad acting. I wouldn't be surprised if Trump orchestrated this.

Well I have now changed my vote in the poll above :disco:

I’ve probably JINXED it but at this rate I can’t actually see HOW Trump has a path to victory. Obviously there’s three months left but something major has to happen to dampen the large shift to the Democrats/Biden.

Politico published a piece on Kamala being Biden's VIP pick, which could be a draft except that the quote from Biden would surely not be there in that form if so?

I'm worried he will pick Kamala. Nothing from her campaign suggested she's up to the job of motivating or appealing to anyone
