Taylor Swift - folklore [New Album]

Just listened to it for the first time. I found it utterly compelling and beguiling pretty much from start to finish. Perhaps it's my hormones, but I shed a tear three individual times at the loveliness of it all, and didn't want it to end. That alone is quite something for an album of 16 tracks which is over an hour long.
I know what you mean. I actually woke up this morning with 'Seven' in my head and felt quite emotional. :shy:

she's such a capitalist monster :D

It still hasn't clicked with me, I'm not gonna lie, though I've only listened to half of it.

Those two notes in her lower register are not strong enough to sustain an album. :(

It's a long record with similar production throughout, so I can get why it's not clicking with some people. It certainly didn't with me for a few days.

I've gone completely off mirrorball and seven. they totally kill the pace and aren't strong enough songs to justify their place here. I think I'll remove them and possibly betty, and then the album is super tight start to end.

Say whaaaat? "seven" is impossibly gorgeous...and the lyrics are so beautiful too.

I'm not a fan of deleting songs from albums anyway. I get the logic behind it of course, but it just seems wrong to me. I'm ANAL I guess...but I also know that songs can grow on me, days or even weeks later, so if I just delete them I'd never know.

imagine deleting seven.

and i've been meaning to tell you
i think your house is haunted
your dad is always mad and that must be why
and i think you should come live with me
and we can be pirates and you wont have to cry
or hide in the closet, and just like a folk song
our love will be passed on

It’s truly DEVASTATING.

Listened to this twice. Admittedly fell asleep on the second outing. It’s all very nice at the minute but it definitely needs time and attention. I haven’t been emotionally devastated yet, which I was kind of hoping for as I’m feeling a bit DEAD INSIDE.

Went for a long walk in the forest today and listened to it and recreated the artwork and cried and also shook a little in the corner to be quite frank (quietly, not violently, though).

How does one delete a song from Spotify?

a delete is a philosophical act. it's not a statement as much, as just a move of passion.

now looking at 725-750K in the US, including 500-525K pure sales - which is also 7 albums straight with 500k+ in pure sales week one.

exile and the 1 have the 2nd and 3rd best streams on the album (25m and 24m), then it's dynasty and ricochet with about 19m each. I'm glad these songs are actually connecting - they're all better than Cardigan for me.

"peace" is REALLY clicking with me today, those bits in her lower range are absolutely sublime. "And it's just around the corner, darling..."

I'm liking too that I haven't immediately remembered each song (see Chromatica) so I find myself going back and being like, oh, that's how that one goes!

It's really a slow burn and thank God for it.
