Random weird question, but how come I don't see this thread in the Coronavirus forum?
 
Interesting comment in John Campbell's latest video, he was actually on about the fires in California and how they should think about getting ionisers to clean up the indoor air but also... this could well take viruses out of the air as well....

I actually have a little one for my room that I hoped might help with hayfever (it didn't) but I may bring it into work to have my own little 'bubble' of clean air! Maybe it's bollocks, who knows, I'll try whatever.

Not sure my tiny desktop one will do much in a giant office, but I'm sure going to bring it in. Won't do any harm at least.

Thankfully it seems the case fatality rate is going down (no one knows why - I favour the theory that social distancing and mask wearing are reducing viral loads and acting almost like a natural vaccine where you just catch it slightly and get the antibodies) but I'm taking no chances while living with vulnerable people so will take every idea for avoiding it like, we'll, the plague. Especially as we don't wear masks at home, so while I might get a low dose that doesn't mean I wouldn't be passing on a higher one.

Seems like they're trying to avoid it at all costs at the moment.
My sister lives in Germany near the French border and her co-worker got married last weekend, they had invited more than 200 guests! I'm actually shocked that's even allowed, here in Ireland weddings and funerals and other events are still restricted to 50 people (well apart from golf gate in Connemara recently :rolleyes: At least the high-profile politicians in attendance had to face the consequences).

I don't think we'll have a new lockdown, but I don't think additional restrictions would be totally unrealistic, such as free movement around Schengen. And I certainly don't envisage that I would be able to visit the UK before the end of the year.
 
Watching anything related to current affairs YouTube is frightening at the minute. All the top/most popular comments are ones that veer somewhere between right wing and ultra right wing and/or people spouting conspiracy theories that they're completely dedicated to.

I don't use Twitter but I dread to think what it's like on there.

So @Rita

We have to wear masks when walking round (you can take them off when sat at a desk), all the buildings have one way systems and our lecturers are wearing visors. Also doing all the seminars online via video call.

pretty much the exact same as my sons school. Do you have to wash the desk before and after use?
