The One Show tomorrow. Will Faye embrace the window wiper strut? Will Lisa trip over the floor? Finally 2020 is getting started.

Anyone get tour tickets?

I had fabulous floor seats for Leeds and then Ticketmaster CRASHED and booted me out

Still managed to get a couple of decent seats though. Very reasonably priced by today's standards, too!

I have tickets! Not sure about the placement etc as my friend got them, but last time we were off to one side and could still see well enough so I'm not too concerned.

My main hope is that we get another Lisa afterparty, @monsta already making all the relevant phone calls I hope :disco:

ON IT HUN :disco:

I have tickets too. Fifth row in the central block! Going with one of my friends. Mr K also wants to go so hoping for another date.

My ticket-buying friend has dropped the ball this morning but I'm sure they'll be fairly gettable between now and the dates... :emoji_upside_down:

Still loving the single, if anything it's growing from an initial 8. We need a poll actually don't we?!

I hate the bit where Lee pats his heart so much but I have to do it every time :emoji_confounded:

I have standing tickets for Bournemouth, which is a fabulous venue for a good view, even up the back, as it’s more wide than long...

I got them in the presale, though, as I pre-ordered the vinyl.

An abridged strut confirmed, and the arms were indeed wiping.

It was all about Faye and LSL really. Shame it was shortened with no middle eight and one run through the chorus at the end (at least Faye kept her bit).

Lee obviously hadn't spent long enough learning the dance routine. No more lead vocals for him.

As someone who graciously accepted a role as Featured Ensemble in a production of Legally Blonde, I can relate to Claire doing all the vocal heavy lifting while being stuck in the background :bruised:

I missed it, but can't wait to see it obviously, especially after these tid bits.

Aw, but Lee looked so HAPPY at having his own bit.

Sorry, I know this won’t be a popular opinion, but this band really would be nothing without Claire doing the heavy lifting.

It’s all very as per Girls Aloud IMO. Nobody wants to hear that horrible noisy voice solo or pop her candle up the mimsy of a desperate Friday, but her shouty honk is absolutely essential to the STEPS FABULEUX concoction :disco:

Please don't ban me but it's "just" an 8 from me at the moment. I like it LOTS - it's so very Steps and I can't stop singing it - but there's something, just a little something, that seems a tad by-the-numbers about it all. But I don't care, it's them and I fucking LOVE how they're being exactly what they were all those years ago. Still, it's just not upper echelon Steps for me, if we're thinking of lead singles especially.

On that note, their single trajectory always confuses me - I assume "Stomp" is the lead single of "Buzz" but its really "Summer of Love" isn't it? In reality?

I thought Lee was fine in that One Show performance. I mean, for Lee.

Lisa always seems the most pleased to be in a job and HAPPY to be doing it all rather than desperate, which is endearing (still a bit useless though god love her), while Claire, ironically, is the most awkward of all many times, perhaps because the majesty of her voice is sometimes quite jarringly off-kilter in most live performances. Naturally Queen Faye manages a FINE BALANCE. H meanwhile just looks dead.

THIS. Claire doe the lifting but it’s oddly all of them that make it. Queen Faye to be fair for the other strong vox, Lisa for the effort etc. It does not work as a solo show, Claire is essential, but it requires the other two (sorry boys) for it to hit home.

The lads are an ok extra, but I need all three ladies to give a shit

This is me down to a tee on this one, though I'd probably knock it down as far as a 7. Certainly not their strongest of lead singles and just a little bit lacking for me.

Still, long may they keep returning and having them around is still pure Kylie-esque joy.

This is too much. If a song ever deserved to see the light of day again, the best part of a decade later, it is Something in Your Eyes (and possibly Dance Alone).
Welcome back ! :D And yes it’s fab song, “A place to stay” also needs to be covered by somebody

Is someone hacking these old accounts :eyes:

Mr Betty Draper next please x

Top 10 HIT!
#10 on the Download chart and Scottish Sales Chart

I guess that doesn’t translate to a No.1(00) smash?

Opted for a 9. There are moments of a 10 (Faye's bridge is so resplendent it almost serves as a middle 8), but Claire's compromise over the key change, Lee emoting like floating balsa wood and Lisa sounding similarly blank could have been rectified. I love the lyrical nonsense established by Claire and H: just what to do if the surface tension really does break :disco: *pats chest*
