What are your hang-ups?

Nah, I'm just lazy. I was referring more to clutter than filth though. Too much STUFF not enough SPACE

Same here. THINGS ON PLACES everywhere, but I draw the line at FILTH

(In that sense)

I do think there’s nothing worse than when you’ve forgotten to close your apps and you turn on your phone on public transport to be confronted with someone being rear ended by a horse or XXX dead baby incest pics

Which is why it’s necessary to close them in time

Or even worse, people who leave doors open ajar, or lamps or tvs turned on even when no one is in the room.

Surely you don’t turn the lamps and TV off every time you leave the room? Or do you?

Personally I love me some LUMIÈRE so quite happily leave all the lamps on all the time

I get annoyed with my flat mate who turns the kitchen light off every time she leaves even though she’s going back in the next 10 minutes and it probably costs more to turn on the LED tube light again than keep it on... but she leaves water running and gas hobs on for minutes at a time between usage.

I think leaving for 10 minutes is suitable justification for turning the light off. I'd say my limit is about 5.

I've just read GUIDANCE that says for compact fluorescent lighting, cost wise you should leave them on if you're going to leave the room for less than FIFTEEN MINUTES!

MADNESS

Mr L gets SOUR FACED if I leave the kitchen to go and have a piss without turning the light off.

I'm going to change us over to compact fluorescent lighting, just to piss him off.

I can't have any unread emails, texts, phone notifications etc. I'm the same with Moopy threads. I have to go into every thread to 'read' them (don't like using "mark all as read" in case I miss anything) :eyes:

I used to be really awful with listening to my iPod and last.fm. I wanted to listen to my entire library once before listening to anything again, so would only pick albums that had zero plays. (But if a song came on shuffle, that was okay!) It was only complete albums that were an issue. And if I started an album I had to finish it which led to me often leaving my iPod playing while I did something else.

Now I don't use my iPod/iTunes I'm very much over that. However since working from home, my OCD on last.fm has crept back in. I religiously delete double scrobbles and still only like listening to full albums (or songs that are shuffled completely). I find myself adding songs manually if I don't finish an album for some reason.

sending help hun. Stay strong x

Actually while the very idea of having to check every email and alert all the time sounds very stressful, I do have to limit the amount of notification icons on my apps. Those little red numbers - they’re like germs on your screen. Be gone!

I know people who can quite happily have three or even four figure numbers next to their apps. That makes me shiver :D

I regard it as a commitment to QUALITY STANDARDS rather than OCD but I would say that punctuation is our friend, and apostrophes and the like do ACTUALLY WEEP when they’re put in the wrong place

My mother has undiagnosed OCD and it kinda ruled her for most of her life. Thankfully I realised early on and responded as an adult by trying to be as rational as I can in my choices. This was obviously offset by some pretty reckless behaviour on my behalf.

I'm not entirely sure if Last.fm obsessiveness compares to the odd things I saw growing up, when putting out the rubbish lasted three hours. I think the terminology might be somewhat wrong.

There is certainly varying degrees of it. I think everyone has quirks, but proper OCD is debilitating.

I must say that my enjoyment of my good friend ASMR MARIA’s relaxing oeuvre on YouTube is sometimes tainted by Its blatantly being borne of quite crippling OCD

I'm still not allowed to use her washing machine, due to a series of complicated routines and methodologies that she still can't fully explain.

Oh I just remembered another one. When putting tins and jars in a cupboard, the label has to be facing outwards and straight on. And I get annoyed the various sizes of boxes of MR KIPLING and the like, meaning the sweetie cupboard can never quite be as tidy as I'd like.

It depends on what kind of room and lighting we’re talking about.

somewhere, Julia Roberts is sitting in a bath looking quite scared.

don’t you just hate it though when the best volume is 13? When 12 is too quiet and 14 is a bit too loud.

They’re playing with us, Alex. They want us to suffer.
I think it is one of life’s great injustices. I mean why is this not getting more attention than children starving over holidays? Anybody know a famous footballer ?

I never thought I had any until my messy af bf moved in. His stray socks and biscuit wrappers lying around the apartment drive me mad.

Mr Ag doesn't even BUNDLE his socks. I rationalise this by the fact they're in ANOTHER DRAWER.

I bundle mine when I can be bothered, which is rarely. However they are all in the same place so it’s not too hard to find a nice pair :disco:

I must say that I deeply resent spending money on socks, but I do try to overcome this and regularly refresh my selection :)

Socks are the only thing I don’t resent spending money on. I’ll frequently splurge on new pairs to put off doing the laundry for another few days.
