Quite odd review, mentions their being a lot of filler but also says there is plenty of new bangers to satisfy fans.

So I'm assuming the 4 or 5 ballads are uneventful, but the upbeat sound pretty on form. Which is fine with me, though a bit of a shame if it isn't as wall-to-wall great as TOTD.

I hope they are being quite loose with the definitions of ballads and slowies, and can only imagine who would think what is really needed from a modern day Steps album is five ballad cuts.

Yeah we definitely don’t need 5 ballads

2 or 3 max would suffice

I'm choosing to believe that to get a 3.5/4 review with mention of filler and multiple ballads, the rest of it must bang like nothing before.

mind you, I’d call Story of a Heart a ballad and that was EVERYTHING

Some reviews though have referred to Under My Skin as a ballad though. I wouldn't really call it that.

We will just file Under My Skin under “not very good”

All falling apart again x x x

"It's all water under the bridge now," says Lisa Scott-Lee, the Steps matriach, as she carefully pins needles into her H & Claire voodoo dolls.

Looking forward to the Rylan interview airing on BBC radio in 10 hours 19 minutes, or in a mere 190 listens of Electric.

No, but she has a fancy for Lisa Lee-Scott and also she GOT PAID :tongueout:

I honestly had no idea the single was the Sia song. Lisa was so buzzing like a vibrator (that had fallen down a toilet) that she made it sound like a tease or somehow not true.

We’re getting the album closer, Hold My Heart, on Friday.

It’s a ballad. Sigh.

Hmmm. I like Under My Skin but I am getting a little concerned about the proportion of slowies on the album if they are 50/50 for the pre-release songs.

Based on the random review a few weeks back it seems to me like 7 bangers and 5 slowies. Keeping in mind Under My Skin (and Fathers Eyes, based on the original) are more mid-tempo etc so hopefully only one or two complete BALLADS.

I like the original of Father's Eyes, though I imagine it might be changed to a greater extent than Something In Your Eyes; more epic, less electro than the original maybe.

They do great ballids and the last album could have done with a couple for variety so fine by ME

This has passed one million on Spotify now, too. Nothing amazing but certainly no embarrassment.

Yeah, it clearly hasn't been the hit that Scared Of The Dark was, but it's done decently.

I'll be interested to see how the album performs.

I assume with the various vinyl's, cassettes and CDs, it should open somewhere around 20k, which should see it in at #2-#4?

Releasing it in November, several weeks after a single is a CHOICE though

To be fair, Something In Your Eyes has only been out 2 weeks and only this week added to radio two. I'd assume next Friday we get a remix of it and then release week several performances etc.

I think Miley may nudge them as well, depending on whether they do 15k or 25k. I'd be perfectly happy with a #3 to be honest.
