I'm not sure how I feel about this second "lockdown". I think if I think about it too much I'll get really depressed so I'm trying not to. But I am sad.
 
In some ways I don’t mind another lockdown. At least the boundaries are clear and going out has been putting me on edge for weeks anyway as I’ve been far from convinced about the safety of it all
 
I applaud England for going in to lockdown at long last but it is all too little too late. Scotland not looking like we are going to go in to lockdown is quite a shock for me, as I thought Nicola Sturgeon was a bit more cautious than the rest of our “leaders” and I think she is definitely gambling right now.
 
@Rachey have you had confirmation it's going to be emergencies only? I've got a feeling from what I'm reading that we're going to be continuing with routine aswell.

On a personal level it doesn't bother me very much at all. But if I lived alone I suspect I'd feel differently. And I'm concerned again about my mum. I know that there's no way we'll stop her doing her own food shopping this time around, and I doubt she'll stop visiting a couple of her neighbours, either.

Professionally it will be bloody hard work again. I fully expect to get half my caseload calling me on Monday.
 
I’d quite like to go through lockdown II in your castle though xx

My daughter is 18 and she is taking a year out. She refuses to leave here when she does go to uni, but she will have to pass her driving test first. She is a SNOB. What have I PRODUCED? If you saw what I was brought up in then we could talk SQUALOR!

The independence is very nice indeed! Providing my other job is back and running again next summer I’ll be trying to move over here permanently!
 
I would like to say that I’m well fucked off that there’ll presumably be no FIREWORK DISPLAYS

Are you stuck in Manchester for the foreseeable? What will student life be like with the imminent lockdown?

Exactly. This never ending effective tier 2 then tier 3 since July with no prospect of leaving has been shit. At least we might stand a chance of a little more normality come December now
 
Feels really weird to go from a situation where we can essentially do what we want in our bubble to hardly being able to do anything.

Really hope i'm able to get out cycling as well just to GET OUT THE HOUSE and stop my body decaying even further - I remember during the last lockdown hearing about people being stopped cycling because it "looked like they were cycling for leisure rather than exercise."

I’m not LOCKED HERE no! As far as I’m aware we’re still going in (we’ve been completely online since it went tits up here but we’re going back in for some lectures from next week). If we revert to 100% online learning again or my NHS job back home need me in then I’ll reconsider of course!

Ive just ordered a load of running gear to make up for the gym loss (which have extended my contract by a month! :disco:)

Just look miserable while you're doing it and the coppers will leave you to your own devices.
