I must add I was with her after her mother died and she was only allowed to be with her mother from a window as she was not allowed to go in and be with her as she passed. :(

Hate to say I told you so but I showed this graph months ago before the first lockdown:

YES!

In pretty much every pandemic ever the 2nd wave is more deadly than the 1st.

I was anti complete lockdown a few weeks ago. Maybe because I stupidly had faith that these local lockdowns would work. But nothing will work because the UK’s track and trace really is abysmal BEYOND belief. The figures that are coming out now...come early to mid December we could see daily death totals worse than we did in May/June/July.

I can’t see how they can lift it after 4 weeks. No way in hells chance

for WHAT do the Ellas and the Beckys need NEW JEGGINGS AND £12 HOODIES so URGENTLY? you're going to be INSIDE FOR MONTHS!

and don't go THINKING you'll be creating any HOT NEW CONTENT FOR THE GRAM in your fucking PRIMARK SPORTS BRA EITHER.

These few days will be interesting. At my work last time the week before lockdown was dead, people were too scared to come in. I reckon this week is going to be the opposite.

I have clients dropping like flies this time around, seems like peoples resolve to battle through hasn't translated to Lockdown part 2. :(

Scottish Moopers is it likely that Nicola is going to put us in to lockdown with England this week? I just watched the Lunchtime news and they said something about Nicola Sturgeons arm being forced to put scotland in to lockdown IF furlough money is only available whilst England is in lockdown. Is that likely, or will Boris make funds available for Scotland if we need to go in to lockdown at a later date?

We‘re back to ridiculous queues outside Tesco in London‘s glamorous Bethnal Green. (The main one, not the depressing satellite branches.) Fuck that. I wanted some more doughnuts but I can live without them

@ZenGiraffe are we going back in to LOCKDOWN?

It doesn't seem to make much sense to lockdown Scotland entirely, though central belt might get whacked up to level 4 sooner rather than later

Was out for my second to last beer garden pint tonight and cycled home - streets are getting eerie again.

This is an interesting map - but I'd be very interested to know if it looks a similar picture if it were by 'cases per 100000 population' rather than by 'number of cases total'. Lots of those parts of Scotland are very very sparsely populated. People can make stats fit whatever pattern they want if they choose the right stat to show.

I SHOULD KNOW..

Actually fuck it, I might create the chart myself.

But in quintile groupings like that previous one, including all of the uk? That's the only way to compare those two graphs like for like?

I tried to form it on the same place the other guy did, but I couldn't get a map that mapped the exact local authorities with the data I could find, so I gave up in the end. I'm pretty sure from what I saw so far though, that it wasn't going to paint a picture too different to the one he tweeted.

Takeaway booze has been banned in Scotland this time. Which is partly because we couldn't be trusted with it and it led to street drinking and jakie-fights.

Encouraging street drinking (instead of people gathering inside each other's houses, as seems inevitable) seems like a positive for lowering the spread of Covid

It was nice back in the summer to be able to get a cold pint of draught cider. Doubt I will bother this time though. TOILETS will be a problem again.

I suppose they're expecting people to take them home this time. So only really works if you go local.

Pubs for me are very much to meet others and socialise. A local pub here has apparently opened and is serving a cuppa soup with any drink, which if you don’t drink then can sit it beside you in case anyone comes in asking questions. Apparently soup constitutes as a main meal.

OH DEAR.

I JUST CAN’T. SOME HUMANS ARE AWFUL.

EVERY LAST ONE OF THOSE MINK WOULD FIGHT FOR ITS LIFE, GIVEN THE CHANCE. BREAKS MY HEART

It breaks my heart too, but I have less issue with the murder of innocent animals to protect humans than I do with the murder of innocent animals for FUR, BURGERS and CHEAP EYESHADOW.

Less so for cheese, I grant you, but hey...

I don’t know why but :D at the way this is put. I’m perhaps not sure that the expression of heartfelt sentiments works quite the same in all caps
