My town centre is pretty dead, but the roads are still busy, so go figure.

If anything closing Primark etc will have very little effect. Pubs I accept are total super spreader venues, but shops are hardly meeting places you spend a long time in at particularly close proximity.
 
I work on the high Street and it's just as busy as normal. One gentleman actually came in today saying he'd just come from Oxford Street which was dead as, but my work area was packed as normal.

It does highlight how much central London is almost exclusively for tourists.
 
Which pissed me off today. We had a great day at the office and I really wanted to go for a pint after
 
This lockdown is definitely less respected here than the first one. Last weekend my street was packed and everyone at the supermarket was buying BEERS and HUMUS while obviously checking the 'VISITING AN ILL AUNT' option on the form we're supposed to fill each time we go out :eyes:
 
I’m finding myself blatantly disregarding lockdown for my own sanity and thinking of lies to tell police officers if I’m stopped, even though they always know when you’re lying

YES I DO HAVE A SUPPORT BUBBLE IN FULHAM, MR CONSTABLE
 
Also, loads of people out and about and on the tube although it’s not exactly PACKED so I’m not the only one

being asthmatic I assume that makes me 7?

If there’s 30m vaccines for a 60m population, remove kids thats about 50-55m, difficult to gauge where the line is drawn on that list but I assume it would still include 7

those of you on 10 or 11 will have to wait :)

that said by the time the US vaccines come in the UK ones would have had stage 3 approvals and that one looks great too so far. Poor Oxford losing their thunder because they are far more stringent and take longer to approve. It’s looking more likely that the Oxford one will be closer to 99%.

Having multiple efficient vaccines is a good thing. No one company will be able to provide jabs for the ENTIRE earth surely.
 
I think one of my biggest issues is HORRIBLE GLOOPY HAND SANITISERS in shops. Just get a nice lemon scented one.

what’s with the ones that are like water and you ended up soaking yourself in it and you’re halfway round Tesco before your hands dry

Not to mention the ongoing hazard of going UP IN FLAMES if anyone drops a match near you

Otherwise yes I agree. I just use my own, much nicer.
 
Someone bought me a Prosecco scented one. Prosecco smells rank. I think they hated me.

Frankly I prefer those to the really SLIMY ones :gross: My boss bought a whole pack for work, no one has touched them :)

:D I get a lot of complaints about the ones we use. Thing is we get through so much of the stuff you have to go cheap!!
 
So one of the men behind the vaccine has suggested that life won't look the same until at least next summer, likely next winter. That makes sense. It will likely end up being a two year event, with the carnage lasting for years
 
Sounds about right, unfortunately and in line with the estimations from many virologists after the first nasty spell in spring.

And hospitals are probably gonna fill up in Autumn and Winter 2021, even if there's vaccination available. I don't think we need to talk about the VENN-Diagram between "opposed to vaccine" and "anti-mask and disregard for social distancing".
 
If me and my loved ones have the vaccine, I don't care about the anti vaxxers. They can literally die.

Whilst I broadly agree, they'll take out the people that have legitimate health issues that mean they can't themselves be vaccinated and rely on everyone else to be. Deaths wouldn't be contained to just the stupid.
 
LOL the classic calling in sick to avoid going to the office after embarrassing yourself in front of everyone at the drinks the night before. LED BY DONKEYS INDEED.
