I’d say a lot of peoples plans were cancelled.
Just like Christmas won’t be cancelled but a lot of peoples plans will be.
 
Sums up this fucking government , no clue and most of where I live is basically a large lorry car park . All going well
 
It's always felt like the way they we were treating a Christmas was problematic, and this last minute change of mind shows why. It would have been much better if we had treated it much more like Angela Merkel seemed to in Germany. The despair we are all feeling has been amplified by governments trying to get a good news story that they couldn't actually promise
 
Honestly I keep saying it, but that stupid one month "Lockdown 2" was just ridiculous by keeping schools open as it was almost NO different from Tier 3.

Of course the R rate has gone above one. My friend at work tested positive now which was inevitable as she caught it from her teenage son, who has almost certainly also passed it on to his dad and sister too, but they seem to be asymptomatic.

I thought one day was more than enough for the virus to be passed on so this is what's confusing me most, what's the difference between seeing/being with the same people for one day or being with them for five consecutive days :confused:

My plan (before the changes possibly happening now) was to get the train back on the 28th. Breaking the rules, but surely a few extra hours in the same household is a whole lot safer than catching a packed train with everyone else on the 27th since they don't run on Boxing Day

And reducing it to one day means more people moving on the same day... It's craziness. What's new.

She’s in Peterborough, just gone into tier 3. I would have to get the train to get there.

What will be will be. I can’t do anything about it. Just got to go with the flow.

Selfishly it looks like I'm OK to visit my mum though as we're both in the same tier and already in an existing bubble which has never changed. Sorry for anyone who needed to travel elsewhere :(

I’m not going to complain anymore. Sorry if it sounded I was being selfish for going on about myself. It’s now affecting everyone who had plans to go anywhere other than local.
 
So we brought the levels down with Lockdown 2, Boris announces the Christmas rules but doesn't extend the lockdown because he's frightened of his backbenchers leading to the rates going back up immediately and now he's cancelling the Christmas rules with three days notice because he's a fucking cunt.
 
They’re doing the same thing they always do - faffing with these slides on virus statistics instead of a few slides setting out in detail the restrictions.

We’ll have to wait for gov.uk to update to understand the rules.
