The roads are extremely busy, and often with private cars rather than commercial vehicles. I sometimes wonder where they’re all going.
 
Why are people surprised at how many people are out and about? People are paying little to no attention. It’s not like last time AT ALL.

I really do think we need to enforce things more strictly, however unpopular that’s going to be.
 
Oh and don’t get me started on the message sent by the football. Anyone see Marine vs Tottenham last night and that there were loads of fans stood outside the ground on national tv and no one seemed to mind.
 
Just discovered that the terrible cunts who walk four abreast serve a purpose - if you walk behind them they shield you from the panting jogger cunts coming the other way :)
 
I said this in the other thread but the reason it's not like last time is because of businesses. When they thought it was a 6 week thing (maximum), they were quite employee friendly. But now they're losing money, they've had a bad Christmas and "the shareholders" are on their back. This time it is "no soup, you're working if we can make it happen". Hence more people around, hence the spread not being contained.

Pandemic or not - four-abreast cunts should be killed. Especially when they look at you like you're the one who doesn't know how pavements work.

Absolutely accept that in some cases (very much not all!) but also, a lot of businesses SHOULD be more ready now than they were first time round, which should balance things out.

It’s not just that at all, it’s the flagrant flouting of the rules. Christmas fucked us all up and the Dominic Cummings incident turned a vast majority to thinking it didn’t matter. Also, the first lockdown not causing as many problems as people thought has been massively detrimental this time around.
 
I really do think companies/employers should be heavily fined if they try and unnecessarily keep workplaces open and prevent employees from working from home.

I don’t think I’ve seen one once! I forgot they were even a thing! I’m quite sure that’s not happening down here...

Well yes but that readiness has boiled down to "how do we keep going?". Also, the government has constantly told us that we were over the worst and even started opening up again i.e. get back to the office or Pret will go down, Eat Out To Help Out...the inability of the government to broadcast and then maintain a coherent strategy has created the current situation. How could any business cope with a Boxing Day lockdown, announced less than a week in advance and costing them one of the most important sales periods of the year, one for which stock will already have been prepared, transported and, indeed, bought in (in many cases)? I've said before that Cummings in the rose garden will be seen as the point at which the government lost any slim control they had over this.

A lot of companies have exhausted their resources in those terms and, with a reduced income, can't find the funds to expand their WFH infrastructure.

My question is about where they are GOING when everything is shut.
 
All this cracking down on bubbles and exercise or whatever is a waste of time. Starbucks is still open FFS. Deal with the businesses that are basically operating as normal, the employers who are making their staff come in on trains and buses (but its FINE because they have some plexi-glass in the office), because I very much doubt people are catching it by JOGGING TOO OFTEN.

I think one thing we’re forgetting is that the new national lockdown rules haven’t even been in place for a week. We need to wait at least a couple to see if they start to have any real impact.

I was rather shocked to see my local one has decided to shut. Still, two Prets, two Neros and a Costa within a two or three minute walk to provide essential coffee to all the people in town doing essential work or popping to Wilko for essential supplies.
 
Is a walk with a friend and a takeaway coffee allowed?

In answer to that simple question, the health secretary says "yes" but goes on to stress that the rules permit exercise with one other person.

The emphasis should be on exercising, not socialising, he says, and if too many people broke that rule the government would have to "have a look at it."

So I can meet an able bodied friend we can have a coffee together if we walk at a brisk pace.

If I meet my friend who is a wheelchair user, it's okay as long as I push him uphill while he does all the hand movements to Agadoo?

I literally have this problem. Even though she doesn't do anything physical, she still considers it exercise.

It shouldn't, quite the opposite! I plan to go cycling to the Olympic park myself this week. My house is far away from the park but it's less than 7 miles so if it's good enough for him it's good enough for me.

Not ALL of them were. Some of them were blatantly in a BACK ALLEY and there was no social distancing going on between all the women with their cava.

And loads of them were in the ground in the stands as well- you're telling me Marine employ THAT many staff? PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFRTTTTTTTTTT...

I’ve just booked a home test. Had a light cough for a couple of days and it seems like it’s just due to the dry air and being stuck inside, but woke up with a bit of a headache and achy joint. Flatmate at the same time has lot last sense of taste/smell so that’s pretty much that. Not a clue where we would have picked it up from other than food shopping.
