Absolutely - what she did was truly terrible, but by all accounts she had spent years of her life COMPLETELY detached from reality and should've been sent to a high security psychiatric hospital for treatment. Instead they executed her... it's actually quite sick.Apologies if it's been mentioned, but I'm still absolutely disgusted that Lisa Montgomery was executed.

What she did was obviously horrific, but by ALL ACCOUNTS she was severely mentally unwell, and abused throughout her life.
I cannot believe anybody with a conscience* would send such a sick person to be executed, never mind when they could have just NOT DONE IT and left it for the Biden administration to sort out.
*well of course I can, it's a Trump administration.
ohOnly if he is convicted by the Senate

I can't believe that America executes anyone. Its sick

To put an all too simple spin on it: the death penalty is horrific and humans are (should be) better than that in 2021.

It's not too simple. It's just fact. It actually is one of the few things that makes me happy to be in the UK - most of us have moved on from this debate decades ago and realise that it is utterly barbaric and simply wrong.

It doesn't even matter to me whether or not she was clinically sane. The death penalty is just not the one.

when it comes to extreme cases, such as acts murder undertaken as part of terrorism, nearly six in ten Britons (58%) back the death penalty for such a crime with a third (32%) opposed.
And this is the framing that will be used.Yeah, I reckon the death penalty will be brought back into serious debate in the U.K. within the next five years.

There were rumours quite recently that HERR PRITI had briefed for it to be debated again, weren't there?
I don't honestly think there's much serious appetite for it in the Tory party beyond that utter psychopath, but I shudder at the thought of it going to a referendum.
