Real world shit.

Day 1 of quarantine. I'm feeling positive. Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst etc etc.

Hi loves

I’ve got to work and realised I forgot my wallet which has my WORK CARD in which is going to make my life 10x harder today :) :) :)

Oh AND my car isn’t working :)

HAPPY WEDNESDAY

Can’t get over this feeling of numbness and general malaise. Wish it would fuck off.
I think everyone is feeling something like that if it helps babe.

for me this is the hardest period with the circumstances since miss covid crashed the party, and I'm just super fucking grateful I have a job now to keep me from going up the walls.

Tesco order sorted. Wine for Friday and household goods.

Vape juice ordered.

Now I just need a way to go walking without leaving the house.

We’re having a team meeting with a senior manager. She talked to us about how hard it is to work from home, and about how much we must all be looking forward to getting back to the office.
Naturally, everyone piped up to say how great working from home is and how hope we get to do it forever.

Our senior manager is a bit like that. Doesn't understand at all why we're all (broadly) enjoying working from home. But to his credit when he was meeting with the higher ups he has been making the case to keep home working on our behalf.

This is always a bold move, I considered doing it myself this morning :tongueout:

I'm off tomorrow because I'm in on Saturday so it gives me a bonus weekend to make up for the abbreviated one I'm about to have.

The exercise bike I bought last year is starting to pay off now. Did a real stint on it on Sunday and it was ace. Gonna do the same today.

Working on my Netflix “To watch” pile, which has finally taken me to The Pianist

I know I know, the Holocaust, but the Holocaust was a really big deal

She really is lovely, but so corporate she could almost qualify for a disability badge. She talks about her back to back meetings and missed lunch breaks like they’re exhilarating and we all want that same feeling.
I stopped before saying I wasn’t missing the #officebantz at all and that I’m genuinely not bothered about not seeing anyone, I thought that might just come off as rude.

Oh we have this problem as well. All these suck-ups who get involved in anything that allows them to not do any work and then get promoted.

Am I the only one who fucking hates working from home? The lack of in-person interaction makes work so much harder for me? Obviously COVID safety makes things different, but in normal circumstances working from home just sounds so unappealing

I'm towards the middle. The endless WFH is doing my tits in, especially as I don't have a dedicated study at the moment, but long term I only want to be in the office one or two days a week. Just enough to remind me that I hate all my colleagues and appreciate being away from them.

I wonder how strong the correlation is between hating WFH and being a MORNING PERSON.

Mornings can cunt off so I love WFH.

@ZenGiraffe
That makes sense. Now that more companies have WFH capability, the hybrid model should happen more. One of my friends is in the office Tuesday through Thursday now and he loves it

I don't know what my company's remote work policy will be from summer/whenever office work is somewhat safe again but I'm going to ask for 50/50, or preferably 40/60 office/home. definitely not in any rush to add a regular 1.5+ hour total commute to my day.

when you're the cutie of the office you really do suffer working from home where you get no interaction! I feel so unmotivated, even the simplest tasks take me forever to get done

as I only live 15 minutes by bike from my office I can't see myself working from home in the future, well, unless I'm having a SOFA delivered or something

Put me in the hate working from home camp also, I really only get the BARE MINIMUM done at home, I find it hard to concentrate at the best of times. I do like my bosses though and generally have aloe of freedom at work and I’m left to do my own thing though which HELPS. That said there’s no way I’m going back to a 5 day week.
