What's your favorite type of Cheese

If I could take a drug that stopped me putting on cheese weight I’d eat a cheeseboard every day.
 
I mean its fucking amazing. It can be salty, tangy, spicy, hard, soft, a fucking LIQUID, cheese is a miracle.
 
I honestly can’t pick a favourite. I can think of a few that I don’t love, but I cant think of a cheese I havent liked.
 
Wensleydale is a bit meh. I’d never buy a red leicester. Apart from that, everything is my favourite
 
Notable mentions to strong cheddars, feta, any blue cheese, camembert, brie. How can I forget the italians like mozzarella and burrata, and telagio. Fucking telagio, what a cheese.
 
I tried Butterkäse for the first time during the lockdown, and it just about killed me because it's so greasy.

All cheese is amazing, frankly. I've never tried that maggot stuff but i bet it's incredible.

As a general rule, I'd probably say a vintage cheddar is favourite but only because of it's versatility. Have it in a sandwich, a cracker, on a potato, melted on toast or whatever. It's always there for you.

Wensleydale is amazing. I visited the Wensleydale creamery a few months ago and left with a veritable sackful of different varieties.

I’m not against being wowed by one, I guess I just haven’t met the right Wensleydale yet.
 
Sign me up to the Wensleydale meh club as well. I don't like its weak ass consistency and I'm also not a huge fan of cheese with fruit in which is so often has.

Yes! Which is weird because I love eating cheese WITH fruit, but not the blended together types.

Otherwise yes, I love all of it. Creamy strong blue cheeses are up there as the best for me

Just had Lincolnshire Poacher for the first time (at least knowingly) with a warm carrot and almond salad with raisin purée. Bloody delicious - I'll be keeping an eye out for it the next time I go to a proper cheesemonger.
 
I just tried Boursin for the first time last weekend and it was wonderful. I really wanna learn how to make quality hors d'oeuvres with cheese.

I loved baked potatoes with their flesh scooped out, mashed with an entire packet of Boursin (and some butter for extra filth), then filled back into their jackets and topped with sautéed leeks and grated cheddar and flashed under a hot grill.
 
I'm no cheese connoisseur, but if I'm chopping an onion I always keep some raw slices out and cut off some extra mature cheddar to eat together as I cook. Preferably I'll microwave these slices until crispy and use kitchen roll to absorb the fat (fank u ANTM for the tip). Divine.
