But quite good song otherwiseI think they try to justify the racism in ‘You Only Live Twice’ by arguing that it’s at least better than ‘Live And Let Die’.Julie Rogers - You Only Live Twice
This isn't quite up there with the Nancy Sinatra song for me, but it's an interesting curio that attempts to reflect the film's now probably quite problematic Far East themes (mainly by having lots of GONGS).

Has Esthero not had paid work in nearly a decade either?I'm getting Emerlie Sandy vibes
I retract, this is better.I'm getting Emerlie Sandy vibes
There was some on Moopy the other day!I don't really pay attention, but I presume there's a plethora of online criticism of problematic bits of old Bond films?
Oh definitely - there's a bit in Octopussy where Roger Moore gives an Indian man money and says "that'll keep you in curry for a while", for an example off the top of my headI don't really pay attention, but I presume there's a plethora of online criticism of problematic bits of old Bond films?

Yeah, I reckon it would've been known as TND if not for that ROTTEN GRASPING CROW (I'm kidding it wasn't up to her and she seems nice)@COB I'm still obsessed with Surrender - do you think the song was retitled when Sheryl's came along? "Tomorrow Never Dies" is in a much more obvious place in the chorus.
God noAnyone for a spot of country?

I am swearing and shouting very loudly at this HATECRIMEGiraffe is thrashing against the bars of its enclosure in rage at this![]()
I'm not sure it really WORKS.
It's not great.
He’ll be furious when he hears that ‘country songs’ is the theme of the next ASFM.Giraffe is thrashing against the bars of its enclosure in rage at this![]()
Male country ballads, to be precise. He’ll be furious when he hears that ‘country songs’ is the theme of the next ASFM.
I don't even remember what the theme was. Alicia Keys? Shirley should have done it!Dame Shirley Bassey - No Good About Goodbye
Now this is a strange case. According to David Arnold this was never intended as a potential Bond theme, but he WAS working on this song for DSB's 2009 album The Performance at the same time he was writing the Quantum of Solace score, and the song features the word "solace" quite prominently in the lyrics… coincidence, troll, or something else? Whatever it is, it's a lovely piece in the style of her Sixties themes - and wouldn't it have been quite a gag for her to return to the franchise after so long with this?
