SPOOKY Sunday

Happy Halloween, hope you’re celebrating by watching my Halloween YouTube special (only 10 mins)

And later when you give up on any activity, sit back with Spirited Away for Club Ghibli :disco:

Not a sniff of Halloween round these parts. Which is nice.

Same.

If it was full-blown nonsense like carnival, I'd be up for it but it's not really a thing here in the mountains.

I only saw one pumpkin on my dog walk yesterday, usually they're everywhere. Lots of fireworks going off last night though despite the heavy rain and blowing a gale.

We did do a pumpkin though!

Got up at 7, went to train station, sat there for some time before all the trains kept getting cancelled, apparently either because of a broken down freight train or (more likely) overrunning engineering works. And so now I can’t go to London to the Nuts in May screening at the BFI with a Q&A with Mike Leigh and Alison Steadman.

Fuming.

Good Morning my loves, and a Happy Halloween to one and all.

Did we never have a Halloween banner? That second ‘o’ in the Moopy banner would make a mean pumpkin. Just saying.

I am going out for Sunday lunch today with my kids, the other half and his kids. He has met mine a few times but this will be the first time I have met his kids, and obviously both of our kids have mingled. My 2 are older than his 3, and I am sure everything will be fine but I am not sure I am quite ready to be the EVIL STEPMOTHER.

The joys of living in London where no one would dream of letting their child knock on a stranger’s door :disco:

Thankfully we only usually get the younger ones accompanied by parents, not the older ones accompanied by knives.

I would also like you as a stepmother

We ate all the chocolate for trick or treaters, so ignoring the front door tonight.

I hate Halloween because I hate fancy dress and the gothic imagery doesn't excite me.

I don't mind seeing a few impressive outfits and pumpkin carving, but otherwise it can SHIT OFF.

I find it cute on younger kids. But adults? Fuck off.

I've decided I'm going BALLS DEEP on Christmas from tomorrow now shitty Hallowe'en is over.

Obviously nothing COMMON like putting the decs up yet, but I might break out the bottle of Advocaat that's been sat in the fridge since last December and whip up a snowball or two, THAT KIND OF THING.

I've already wrapped over 30 presents.

I've not started yet. Well, bar getting my Mum Abba Voyage tickets that I'm not ENTIRELY sure she's going to want. I normally wait until my birthday is over and then properly hammer it hard.
