This guy literally fled the U.K. after a gang rape trial against him was thrown out on a technicality and has written online about how he’s mostly in the ex Soviet Union to trick poor women into sleeping with him, I wouldn’t support him by watching his videos. (Check the Reddit BaldandBaldrDossier for receipts)

I only ever watched for the obscure locations. That kinda fills in the blanks, there was always something a bit UNEXPLAINED and frankly RACIST about him.
 
I had no idea about any of THAT but I'd been going off him recently too and couldn't really put my finger on why. The latest videos about his "heroic" escape and journey to the battle lines have also annoyed me (I haven't watched). Why was he even still in the country when the situation was escalating? For YouTube views and likes? (Yes)

After I posted that I watched the previous video where he entered the Ukraine just as the war began, which seemed really off.

I never really watched him fanatically, as like most people have said I found him rather annoying. That he's basically a sex tourist really does explain why he's there.
 
Has anyone tried to watch any RT recently? Curious if they've gone full tilt Fox News. They're damned either way now; they can't stop supporting their cash cow but they can't 'report' Pro-Putin propaganda in the face of overwhelming international pressure.

I did 10 minutes yesterday, still claiming that some ukrainians are waving and cheering them in and using words like intervention and activity, but there was a little more balance and admission that people are dying, still 99% lies though.
 
Am a little confused now, I was watching some phone calls from people living in Ukraine and one said this is all happening because of the Azov Batallion?
Which I googled and I don't like what I see. Any expert on Ukraine to explain why this was turned into a regular unit of the official army?
 
I’m not sure that my thinking about what’s going on in Ukraine or checking the news is very beneficial. I know that avoiding it means lapsing into ignorance but what good will my tears and upset do? They aren’t going to make it STOP

I feel the same, I’ve got a million things to do but I keep checking Twitter instead. I suppose we’re so helpless here that the least we can do is stay informed.

I’m not sure that staying informed of the numbers of people being killed for no reason (or the ghastly array of weapons) is all that helpful though. In this or ANY context. I think I might restrict my attention to making donations. At least I can actually do something constructive by doing that

Because despite the fact that they are weirdo fascists, they seem to be excellent and fearless soldiers and they held the line down in Donbass so that the invading Russians couldn't capture the city of Mariupol. The separatists and Russians actually fear them. Neither Azov or the Right Sector made any inroads in the political sphere. Basically, their role is cannon fodder. Ukrainians don't want them in any other capacity. It's a horrible compromise an underfunded Ukraine had to make in terms of self-defence but it kept them out of harms way. By the same token, the Ukrainians are going to release prisoners to help in defending the country. Some of these will no doubt be guilty of horrible crimes but that is the sort of choice you are left with with your back against the wall.

The Azov Batallion is often used by the Pro-Putin bots and useful idiots to seed the lie that Ukrainians are neo-nazis, all the while keeping very quiet about Russia's own and Putin endorsed neo-nazi Wagner Group - a batallion of fascist mercenaries who were happy to bomb hospitals in Syria among other atrocities and are rumoured to be heading towards Ukraine. It seems as if the Ukrainians have mostly neutralised the psychotic Chechen division a couple of days with maybe only its commander escaping but the Wagner scenario means there will be a huge amount of civilian casualties to come and the fact that Russia employed vacuum bombs in the centre of Kharkiv (banned by the Geneva Convention, hence a war crime) after Putin promised Macron not to target civilian buildings means Russia's gambit is now the Chechen scenario of a scorched earth policy to scare the Ukrainians into surrendering.
 
When all this is over, the world must ensure the demilitarisation and denazification of RUSSIA. Carve it up and occupy it, like they did to Nazi Germany.

Denazificate them and make them a gay vassal state of the EU instead. :disco:
 
Anyway I don't want to divert the topic - feels in poor taste. Maybe we can start a separate thread about breaking up Russia and turning it into Gay Colonies.

A nuclear power? Good luck with that. The time to demiliarise is now. 75% of Russia's forces are in Ukraine right now and a lot of it is a sitting target for the sophisticated weapons the west has. But Ukraine has no strategic value to the west and isn't worth the bombs. Nor the risk of a WW3, which is already under way. NATO will only take interest when an emboldened Russia demands a direct corridor to Kaliningrad.

The other way would be to starve Russia out. That will take months and require some diplomatic twisting of the Chinese (doable - it is heaily dependent upon the Western market) by which time there will be nothing left of Ukraine or Ukraine's men.

I have family in Ukraine. I was there just before Covid came and was due to do a long trip to Kyiv, Odesa and L'viv in 2020 but shit happened. I haven't slept since the war broke out and, try as I might, I can't even avoid news of the war as its is everywhere. I have resigned myself to the fact that the male members of my family at the very least will be either dead by the summer or, in the faint hope that any survive, transported to some god forsaken part of Siberia for "denazification" with their homes replaced by loyal Russian "reconstruction workers" who will be encouraged to stay and foster brotherly love to Suka Russia.

We visited St Petersburg a couple of years ago and i have to say it's probably the most beautiful city I've ever visited and the locals were just lovely.

We went on a cruise, all cruises have now cancelled stops there which is absolutely understandable, but also very sad.

It genuinely saddens me that Russians and Belarusians will suffer the consequences of Putin's actions (obviously I understand in no way near the same as Ukranians and I'm not playing down what Ukraine is going through at all).

But the anti war Russians must be so upset by this, and unfortunately knowing what the uneducated can be like, I can imagine Russians in this country, America etc will be targets of abuse through no fault of their own.

Take it from me, you would be horrified to discover just how many of these supposed "westernised" Russians approve of what is happening. A lot have a visceral hatred of Ukraine because that is how they have been brought up to think.

But yes. There are a ton of honest Russians who will now bear the burden that Germans did after the war for generations to come.
