“OK, Kate, we can take you off ACR but you need to do at least some active promo.”

”Did you not see the statement on my website?”

”Yes. That was very nice. Could you maybe repost it on Twitter? That would be enough for us.”

”DEALBREAKER”

Or of course my favourite below which really I would like installed on my tombstone (electronic screen 24/7 gif display thank you please):

The below is probably her defining move for me.

Kate Bush scores her FIRST Top 10 hit in the USA.

Due to its popularity on Stranger Things, 'Running Up That Hill (Deal With God)" has earned English singer-songwriter Kate Bush her first Top 10 hit in the US.
Coming in at number 8 (reaching the same number in the UK, 'Running Up That Hill' was originally released in 1985 and reached 30 back then.

In the new season of Stranger Things, Max (Sadie Sink) is mourning the lost of her brother Billy, leaving her grief stricken. She turns to music to help comfort her, one song in particular - "Running Up That Hill (Deal With God)" by Kate Bush. The song turns out to be a key component in saving Max's life - literally.

According to music supervisor, Nora Feld says The Duffer brothers asked her to find a song that resonates with Max, ""“Consequently, each of the prospective song placements in the initial scripts was tagged with the placeholder, ‘TBD Max song.’ From there, I made an effort to internally align myself with what the Duffers felt were the most important elements needed, and my own intuitive grasp of Max’s complex feelings.”

After choosing 'Running Up That Hill,' Feld says, “It immediately struck me with its deep chords of the possible connection to Max’s emotional struggles and took on more significance as Bush’s song marinated in my conscious awareness.”

The next obstacle was securing the rights to the song, which plays in a few episodes of Stranger Things, most explicitly in episode 4, "Dear Billy." Long story short, because of the usage, securing the song took longer than usual, as scene details, scripts, etc. were sent to Kate Bush for her approval.

It turns out that Bush was a fan of Stranger Things, and approved the song, even releasing a rare statement after the song became popular:

You might’ve heard that the first part of the fantastic, gripping new series of 'Stranger Things’ has recently been released on Netflix. It features the song, ‘Running Up That Hill’ which is being given a whole new lease of life by the young fans who love the show - I love it too! Because of this, Running Up That Hill is charting around the world and has entered the UK chart at No. 8. It’s all really exciting! Thanks very much to everyone who has supported the song.
I wait with bated breath for the rest of the series in July.
Best wishes,
Kate

talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, showstopper, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it

Hounds of Love is 13 in the US albums midweeks... looks like it'll be her first top 20 album here. I bet vinyl could be enough to get it top 10

To be fair I couldn’t hum a Bad Bunny tune.

He hasn't been able to cross over completely, not even with high profile collabs with Dua, JLO, Cardi, and more but he's a streaming beast in Latin America, US, and Canada. Maybe a couple of Western European countries as well @Alla to confirm if he's big in Spain, please. Guess there's no audience for him in the UK :(

only the new Latin King of Pop, that's it. Surely you must have heard his collaborations with Cardi B and Dua Lipa?
I don't think I've heard a Cardi B song :D I've definitely heard Dua Lipa songs, but I couldn't name any off the top of my head.

I wasn't expecting Bad Bunny to be MALE :o

If (when) she gets to #1 this weekend, will that throw up any interesting chart stats about the time between the gaps of her first and last?

It’ll beat this won’t it?

There was almost 26 years between Cher’s 1965 chart-topping debut I Got You Babe with her then husband Sonny Bono and the 1991 Number 1 The Shoop Shoop Song (It’s In His Kiss). Those 9376 days between both songs first reaching the top spot is the longest span between chart toppers ever logged by a female artist.

There may be some perverts out there that argue Ferry Aid should count as a Kate Bush #1, but: (a) it doesn’t, and (b) she would still beat the record.

Cher was 10 days short of spanning 25 years between solo USA Billboard Hot 100 numbers 1s (Dark Lady to Believe, both peaking in March of 1974 and 1999 respectively).

She should recreate the vegetarian buffet in her garden with Delia :disco:
