Sophie from Home And Away has been it for almost a whole decade!

Jane very much was being written as the resurrection of Mrs Mangel for a while (and they've openly acknowledged that onscreen several times). They'd recently started moving away from that (a few weeks ago we had Jane get absolutely trolleyed in a gay bar and befriend all of Australia's lesbians), but they've now done a strong u-turn to help facilitate her designated ending of "poor bitter Jane all alone".


On a shallow note - to hell with Malcolm, what secret witch potion has Joel been drinking these past 25 years?! :horny:
 
Daniel MacPherson has been in a few UK/US/Australian things over the years, so I don't think I've gone more than a couple of years without seeing him. But yes, he's FINE.
 
I've been watching the first few episodes on Youtube and the mother of Paul's twins actually appears in them as a 15 year old.



Was Paul meant to be a secret kiddy fiddler? :o
 
I've just spent about 10 minutes looking at Daniel MacPherson Google images and I think I need a wank now.

I’m on last Friday’s episode… there’s a returnee every five minutes now and they’ve given up even contriving reasons for them all being there. It’s insane! :D 🤯
 
Decided to tune in for the final week. I'm liking the little flashbacks, some of them are rather poignant.

I guess part of the story is everyone is moving away (but Susan and Karl are staying?), all at once, kind of odd. Wonder if Scott and Charlene are back because hey, there are heaps of houses going so why not?

What happened to the intro song? Just having a logo flash up is BORING. I wanted to see what the latest intro looked like.
I legitimately thought Susan Kennedy had remarried to some old bald geezer. Considering Karl looks exactly how I remember him in some lottery promo they keep airing, that really confused me. He's put a bit on in the process too.
Some of the newly returned characters (Jane?) seem to be before even my time so don't have the impact on me I'd have liked.
So the returning characters are actually the originals? I did seem to recognise Malcolm. Just there have been so many recasts back when I was watching it.
I'm liking the story with the lesbian couple where one of them just found herself. Aw.
If it ends with the history book closing like My Little Pony did, I swear to god I will lose it.

Someone mentioned Daphne. Almost before my time, the only thing I remember about her was her death and "Daphne! Daphne!" being yelled and my parents calling her daffodil and yelling "Daffodil! Daffodil!"

Why isn't Rebecca Ritters back, btw? I know she's widely considered one of the worst characters ever, but she was still fairly significant and if they can get KYLIE MINOGUE and GUY PEARCE to show up...

Need to catch up as I missed it yesterday. Is Guy Pearce back yet? I want a scene with him and Margot Robbie giving some kind of Scorsese-esque scene.
 
After watching the Channel 7 episodes of late, remembered what a scenery CHEWER Myra De Groot was. Remarkable.
 
Have Alan Dale and Craig McLachlan been mentioned as featuring in the last couple of episodes?
 
I wonder if Kylie will be adopting her Epponnee-Raelene Kathleen Darlene Charlene Craig-accent for this.

Jane has been back since 2018. I don't know if she had better storylines then as I didn't start watching again until the end of last year, but she's had fuck all to do since then. She probably got one or two scenes a month with Clive (and for him that's pretty much it), and then she has only ever really functioned as a character on the periphery of her daughter and the gay dads.

So I'm not surprised she hasn't had any impact - she's been a slightly simpering priggish nothing of a character for months now. And they have had to create something for her to allow a Guy Pearce storyline.
