Indeed. He's basically positioning himself as the saviour of the Tories once they collapse at the next GE - whenever that is - and they ditch Rishi.

His statement is basically: "I could win the next election, but Rishi and Penny don't want me in the race, so whatever happens next is on them. Call me when they're gone".

The last six weeks has hardly been joyous. But it's only the last few days with Boris Johnson being a 'thing' again that I've realised how much he gets under my skin and really is one of the most fucking awful people. I'm almost ashamed to admit that I woke up at 3am the other morning feeling worked up about the prospect of him being an unavoidable presence in my life again.

As frustrating as it is that he appears to do fuck all for his constituents (and some of them don't even seem to care), I don't mind him being on a permanent jolly at the taxpayers expense if it keeps him out of the country and out of our orbit for as much time as possible. Indeed, I'd consider it money well spent.
 
Still no word from Nadine. But then I guess she's too busy taking to the streets of leafy Clophill calling for a general election to be posting on twitter.
